Yeah, that and the cut of the dick threat. That is NOT my kind of crazy. XD
Oh I missed that don't remember seeing it.
For me it was mostly the follow up knife event with Maria that killed basically any interest in Ashley for me. Went scorched Earth way to damn soon and when we have other ladies with similar figures, maybe not exact, I'd rather spend time with them.
Well Ashley is not a yandere she's actually a kichidere. A yandere builds up to the crazy while a kichidere is that way out of the gate.
While they are similar they are not the same.

wat does beta stage mean
Think of it like writing a paper:

Alpha - Rough draft, it's missing a bunch of stuff, there's typoes everywhere, you're not going to show that to anyone except maybe people who are helping you write, it's not even close to done.

Beta - First draft, it's mostly done, you still need to do some proofreading but you might share it with the class for some feedback before you're done. In this case, Runey shares the beta with patrons so that he can get feedback to make some last minute changes and bugfixes and the patrons get to access the content early - with the understanding that it's not done so there may be bugs and there may be changes before the final release.

Release - You're ready to turn it in to be graded. You might still work on writing more of it, you might even make revisions to hopefully improve your grade, but this version is at the very least good enough to hand in.

Remember, using codes to change your relationship levels will break your save.

It means that SOME of the events are mostly complete, and are being tested by supporters.

Honestly, Runey's beta tests are really alpha tests, the scenes being tested are in beta, but the update itself is in alpha, as in it is not feature complete, there are still many more scenes to be added at this point. As far as I know, only a couple/few are done so far.

Alpha version comes out: oh shit, here we go again
I still have flashbacks from the last alpha version lol, ppl didn't stop asking about the bugs or the saves
Thankfully, it hasn't leaked this time so far. Hopefully, it will stay that way (as usual).
Runey's supporters are usually pretty good about that.

Added benefit of not having 1+ years between updates. I wasn't really surprised it was leak with how much gap there was between updates and folks being excited, but what a headache that was. Hopefully he's back in his routine and it'll be mostly smooth sailing.

Do wonder if he plans on coming back or not.

Runey likes to start testing each event as he finishes it, so that he can fix any issues as soon as he can (if they are found). This is the 2nd beta version, each one has had one scene (that we know of based on the screen shots he posted).

Yeah, things should be more smooth this time, though I would not be surprised if it's not fully back to normal this time, his dad won't die again, but he could still be dealing with some of the shit with that and the immigration for a while, hard to say. But I should be a lot faster than last time either way. Like I said, we know at least 2 scenes are mostly done. Lin and/or Nia, and Autumn.

wat does beta stage mean
Beta means the game is basically finished, but still has some tweaks and polishing required to really be called done. The story is there, the mechanics are there, there isn't anything really unimplemented, but it's still untested and might still contain placeholders or rough, buggy code.

As opposed to Alpha, which simply means the game is currently under development. Operational, but totally unfinished.

Of course, in a day and age of endless internet updates and DLC, the terms don't mean a whole lot any more. What game is complete which still receives meaningful updates? It's still used, but it's a bit of a holdover from an era where when a game was complete you bought the whole thing and then it was just what it was.

playing for free so i got no right to make demands but i will say this game needs sound effects, would definitely make it so much better
Maybe later. As things stand, adding SE would push development back considerably, and could raise other issues, as Runey would need to pay for voice actors, add a sound mixer into things, and then ensure that every scene has added sounds to it. So, yeah... that'd push things back considerably at this stage. I'd say that if Runey adds SE, it's best to do that when the game is 99.9% complete.

"Sound effects" doesn't necessarily mean voice actors, nor does it necessarily mean that every scene would need to be updated all at once. But IMO, a bigger benefit would be for the music to better match what's going on.

The only sounds I would want would be something like a small tick to show that I clicked on a button or something. Anything more than that, and I will go back to muting everything again.
Most porn game sounds are awful, and take me out of the game, make me want to stop playing (and voices are the worst).

Hard disagree. Voice acting is often one of the hottest things to me. Like, I probably wouldn't have given Snow Daze the time of day if it wasn't voiced.

Quality definitely plays a role, yeah, but that's true of everything. I think it'd be super hot to know what kind of voice Lin has, especially if it's well-done.

I'm neutral on sound effects, I guess it's okay provided they don't sound like they came out of a free library from 30 years ago. Same for voice acting, but this one's probably out of the question until the script is close to being finalized.

What I'd like, however, is having more ambient sound aside from the same 3 music loops that we have now. Things like the cafe having an actual cafe ambience track, or the few events that happen in the city featuring traffic sounds and other people doing their own thing in the distance. If our bar has its own BGM, then a place like the Bunbun Brothel should have theirs too.

Runey doesn't need to go all out and have a soundtrack for every single ambient, but I feel it's a pretty obvious addition to certain recurring ones.
