Hey Brojgh, thanks for playing.
I made the game this hard so that you feel like you need to sell yourself into slavery, which you can do at the dumpster area. A couple of things though:
Running out of hygiene doesn't kill you, just makes you sick. Your best bet for not being a slave or slowly dying is to stand up to the restaurant boss and let yourself be fired. Build up that reputation and don't let anything bring it down, then get to Pleasantview ASAP and start working in the mine or at the cafe or w/e. Remember that just by sleeping in your starting apartment you gain reputation (for being a good tenant).

Let me preface this by saying this game is a solid piece of work, I love it, and huge props to the dev making it. Just wanted to establish this so I don't come off as hostile or something
I respect that you decided to make an actual challenging game instead of just a porn slideshow, that is actually commendable. But the difficulty of the game is so obscenely high it borders on not being playable for a casual like me. As to avoid being a whiny bitch who only criticises, here's my suggestions to fix things without changing core gameplay:
a) Give the ability to clean yourself even when already homeless (in the Salon? or water in the dock?), otherwise getting booted from Shireens is just a game over due to hygiene
b) Keep the difficulty of the grind at the same level, but increase the starting amount of bits, so at least you have a chance to pay the rent if you're crafty
c) Add an optional difficulty level (purists can play at the current level) where salaries increase by a certain amount OR you need less stamina for tasks OR reputation rises faster
Idk maybe I'm a dumbass, but I just can't make this work. In the older versions I managed to survive just fine, but in the current version, after hygiene was introduced, it's unsurmountable for me. Still a great game, but obviously made less great by the fact I can't access the good bits without dying lol
EDIT: I gave it some more tries and found another two suicide-inducing mechanics: if you mine two gold ores in one day, the game automatically takes them away from you and drops your stamina to zero. And you also can't make money in the casino because whatever you win, the casino demands you to give back and if you refuse they just take ALL your money. Oh, and the tips from the cafe are only given once - you get one from each patron, and after that you never get tips again. You can't be serious mister dev
Technically? No. In reality? Absolutely yes, it does kill you. It makes you unable to do a full day of work, which kills you with starvation very quickly.
When you get fired from the restaurant (3rd day, I believe?), you starve within two days tops. Hardly enough time to farm reputation to enter Pleasantview. I think I pulled it off once (leaving restaurant and managing to enter PV), but then you have no work prospects - you can't work in the Cafe because you can't clean yourself (zero chance to have 100 bits on time to pay rent, so no Plebwasher 3000 for you), and you can't work Mines because Chloe bribes the mine owner near instantly, like 2 days after you start working assuming you enter PV as soon as possible. If you accept the pillory, then it's Game Over - your reputation goes into negatives, you have no way of returning to PV, no way of making money, you might as well quit at this point since there's nothing you can do - can't even work the Salon because it also requires cleanliness. If you try sticking to the Restraurant, it doesn't work either - the pay is not enough to pay rent, so you get kicked out, so you can't stay clean, so you get sick, so you can't work, so you starve. In the current version I never managed to survive longer than 10 days, even though I was save-scumming like a motherfucker and minmaxing everything.

hey I may have found an infinite money exploit, after I gave myself to the auction I got bought by Shireen and after working in her mine the guy that buys your ore let me buy gold ore from him for 50g and then sell it back to him for 150 racked up like 8k doing this lol, if this was intentional then my bad
Any idea how to help Nishra ??
I gave her a Jade many times without consequences
there is only one time in which you speak with shireen's brother about Nishra but the dialogue ends with no choice !!

Lol well to be fair I did balance the game *before* hygiene was introduced and then only made some small tweaks afterwards without the heavy testing I had previously done. There does need to be a homeless hygiene source, and there kind of is one in the foot massage place *if* it's already renovated. There's also a 1 use per day one in the mine. But yeah, I'll fix this.
The 2 golds at the mine thing was that if you have a highly unlikely scenario like that, the game thinks you are save scumming xD. But I probably should bump that up to 3. Same thing for the casino. You can win money, within reason. But if you are just printing it via save scumming I made a little lore-friendly way of saying nope!

Finding 2 golds is not that improbable within a day, bumping it to 3 is certainly a good idea. Also I didn't win that much in the casino, like 700 bits I think? And it was obtained legitimately. I assume the threshold for cheating accusation is something like 500, could be a bit higher. What about the tips in the cafe only being given once per customer, was that intentional?

Hi,you mentioned a new ending,but I want to ask how can I accomplish the old ending?It's day23 now,it looks like Chloe isn't going to do anything after she humiliated me at the sqaure.

Also found a bug, I bought my way out of being shireens slave and managed to get enough money to buy cocktails to earn back my rep and I got invited to Shireens party. When I got in the dinner scene started up and it re-enslaved my character. Also when u get out of being a slave all the npcs keep saying that you have a collar on.
iirc it goes like this:
1. get cloe to move in (should arrive after like 10 days)
2. go through her event (talk to her, get denied access to mines, talk to her again, acept her deal)
3. get addicted to shady stimulants (can purchase them in warehouse bottom right of the map)
4. talk to 2nd guy in warehouse and attack him
5. shady stimulant pillory event happens, your last visitor is gonna be cloe (make sure to be fed before step 4. if you starve before end of event, you won't get to see cloe)
that should explain everything
Wait what? How did you come to this conclusion, the dev answered in this thread less than a month ago and didn't mention anything like that.
