Hey everyone, this build is an Alpha build only for my supporters that apparently someone leaked. It is in a rough state, hence why it is not publically available. So please do not play it, or if you want to, support me.

This game is literally my job and how I pay my rent and support my family.
Thanks. Any thoughts on when to expect the public release?

FWIW... I'll agree with meltyquestfan above: trying to engage folks who pirate IP is a losing game. You're not going to change their behavior or their minds, you're just going to raise your blood pressure, waste time, and create friction. Don't feed the trolls, etc.

I've made my living off of the sale of copyright-protected books and recordings for the past twenty-five years. The best way to discourage piracy from eating at your income (and at your creative product) seems to be to make sure that you make your work widely available through legitimate channels — just what you're doing. Most folks are happy to do things the right way if given the opportunity.

DRM, DCMA takedown notices, etc. are a game of whack-a-mole that never really goes away. There will always be pirates. And in my experience most folks who won't pay for a book/game... aren't ever going to pay. They don't really represent lost revenue. It's better to think of it as... free, inefficient marketing, maybe? As long as you encourage the behavior you want (including links in-game to your crowdfunding, etc.), you should probably save yourself the aggravation of going all-out trying to discourage the behavior you don't want.

Again, FWIW. YMMV. Etc.

Also, yeah: it's funny that Robbie gets such a negative reaction from some folks — but hey! Better a strong reaction than no reaction, right? ;)

Yeah, I definitely had a bit of a meltdown. Honestly, this is my first time dealing with that sort of thing, so I don't have calluses yet. It was a bit soul crushing to see the thing I literally spend 5 days a week working on get stolen and passed around. I can't really fight the pirates. If they want to do it, they'll do it. At this point I just hope they enjoy it and throw me a couple bucks one day if they had a good time. I definitely don't encourage it, and I still personally think it's pretty scummy. But there is nothing gained by trying to change the minds of people who are set out to take whatever they want. I'm trying to move on and get over it and get back to working on my game.

Very very good porn. But the story and characters feels like a fake imitation of what real relationships are like. That really takes me away from the game.

Edit:
I got a bit more into the game, and the character is a lot more realistic. But why would the dev make the first interaction they have so weird and incel-like?

RadLord is this still releasing on Steam this year?
That's the plan! It won't be the final release, but likely early access. We're adjusting our release schedules and how we do content to hopefully speed things up.

It's been fun watching your updates and then your review <3 when you talked about things being done on purpose I was happy cause your first comment made me go "But... no but... oh, they aren't there yet"

Sorry if this has been asked, but are there any [plans to add] girls in the game?
Like, any type of girl? Yeah, we got a trans woman main love interest and we have two planned side characters that are trans girls and fuckable.

Now, do you mean a cisgender woman? I do have one planned, actually. Not sure if I'm going to make her fuckable, but we'll see.

I get it — I really do. It’s maddening to find something you’ve slaved over being given away without your permission. I’ve been in that situation, wanting to strangle someone for leaving a 1-star review on Amazon about an issue that I'd fixed long pre-release -- and this wasn't a beta, so I know he got it from a pirate site. Grr. Still, nothing to do -- I reported the review, but they ignored it, and at a certain point, I was just creating aggravation for myself.

I guess that's why I posted: just to say I know how you feel, and don't beat yourself up.

Also, love the game. :)
