I'm totally denying all responsibility for whatever you guys get up to!some of these are the reason mankind evolved from monkeys
Sarah is my waifu.... getting laid is not the priority, just a bonus perkI'm totally denying all responsibility for whatever you guys get up to!
Hell, if that was indeed an option for you it would be about number three on bad things you can do...
*gets back to work*
d) Annie was right and they are up to no good.Just one thing that alarms me though scanning this. Are some of you -seriously- suggesting that given the means you would wipe out the LGM's just to:
a) revenge your waifu
b) suck up to command
c) to try and get laid
*grins*d) Annie was right and they are up to no good.
e) The God Emperor requires purging of the xeno scum.
f) Just in case there are LGWs who would need new mates...?
i'll be the hero Sarah needs... hopefully that won't stop me from being an ass to everyone elseFaith in humanity re... Oops, wrong door.![]()
*has total faith all her players would never do anything bad...*Faith in humanity re... Oops, wrong door.![]()
yeah.... it's not like anyone would drink and go for a space walk*has total faith all her players would never do anything bad...*
We didn't evolve from monkeys. Monkeys simply evolved from a not so distant common ancestor.some of these are the reason mankind evolved from monkeys
Mr professor man... you are so smart. I'm surprised NASA lets you play adult games when the space force has to be worked on and the deadline is aproahingWe didn't evolve from monkeys. Monkeys simply evolved from a not so distant common ancestor.
Thought it's important to correct such a statement in a forum talking about things like space travel and alien lifeforms.![]()
Seems like I got put into the "reply to later" category then. Shame that, I even did a totally flawless setup for a joke and everythingOh gosh there is a lot to reply too here, which I'll try to do a bit later on *is on a full rendering spree at the mo and since it's the same PC that does both so my typing can go to shit if I'm not careful especially doing quotes and whatnot*
Weeelll... not exactly for those reasons. If it turns out that Annie is right and the LGMs are hiding something from Humanity that could make them into a threat? Then it might be in our theoretical interest to stop a problem in its tracks before it has the chance to grow to large, so to speak.Just one thing that alarms me though scanning this. See? This person has the right idea. Option d) and e) are clearly both very valid reasons to carry out a bit of the good old Xenocide.d) Annie was right and they are up to no good.

I suppose it all ultimately depends on what your character sees as being in his best interest, no?Seems like I got put into the "reply to later" category then. Shame that, I even did a totally flawless setup for a joke and everything.

Then it might be in our theoretical interest to stop a problem in its tracks before it has the chance to grow to large, so to speak.(In my canon playthough I'm probably just going to leave them alone / be friendly unless they turn out to be malevolent.)
But who knows, wiping them out, or creating a war with a high tech foe if the conspiracy is right might bring more benefits that it creates. To quote Terry Pratchett:
“Racism was not a problem on the Discworld, because—what with trolls and dwarfs and so on—speciesism was more interesting. Black and white lived in perfect harmony and ganged up on green.”
Does that not sound like a perfect world to you?

Wiping them out is a waste of resources. Even if they are hostile and cannot be reasoned with, it's better to try to turn them from a liability into an asset by containing them or subjugating them. Their extermination can also negatively affect the ecosystems.Seems like I got put into the "reply to later" category then. Shame that, I even did a totally flawless setup for a joke and everything.

Y'know, I think the thing I enjoy most about making this game is seeing you guys play and discuss it. I -really- am looking forward to your thoughts as this game hots upWiping them out is a waste of resources. Only dumb bad guys destroy things because it's more convenient.![]()
Sometimes, you have to ask yourself if it's worth the risk of having more under your control. You don't know much about them, you can exploit them, but you don't know what they are able to do. Anything can turn the tables, if you can afford the risk, go for it tho.Wiping them out is a waste of resources. As they say, sometimes you can't make an omelette without ruthlessly crushing dozens of eggs beneath your steel boot and then publicly disemboweling the chickens that laid them as a warning to others.Sometimes, you have to ask yourself if it's worth the risk of having more under your control. I like the boot thing quote, it knocks my fetishes a bit.As they say, sometimes you can't make an omelette without ruthlessly crushing dozens of eggs beneath your steel boot and then publicly disemboweling the chickens that laid them as a warning to others.
If you go too far though you may find yourselves without anything to make an omelette from.![]()
I'll just say that what you have going here is very inspirational.Y'know, I think the thing I enjoy most about making this game is seeing you guys play and discuss it. I -really- am looking forward to your thoughts as this game hots up

Oh no, this has nothing to do with what my non-canon HFY playthough character's best interests are, nothing as selfish as that. It's about what lies in humanity's best interest. There is some prime real estate down there, and I don't think it's written in our human rights that it also applies to aliens.I suppose it all ultimately depends on what your character sees as being in his best interest, no?![]()
You make a good point, yeah, though this is of course working under the assumption that they are just what they seem, small primitive space goblins. Containing can definitely work fine in such a scenario, though in this day and future age, there isn't much need for manual labour, especially from a race we only have confirmed sightings of around a few thousand members. Also, I am offended that you are insinuating that somehow eradicating / subjugating / containing aliens who stand in the way of human colonial expansion somehow is a "bad guy" thing to do. Like the Pratchett quote said, this is totally how we solve racism. Don't you want to solve racism?Wiping them out is a waste of resources. Even if they are hostile and cannot be reasoned with, it's better to try to turn them from a liability into an asset by containing them or subjugating them.
