I am trying to figure out if there is a problem with my installation or not. Is anyone else missing a lot of various images from volume 1?

I started from a clean start. I will try it again and see if it helps. I have the full and compressed versions installed and I get the same missing files on both. Very odd.
I reinstalled without the wt mod and all images are there. I may somehow be jsing a WT that does not reference the correct images or something. Will work it out. Thanks for the response.

My guess? You're using an older build.
Why? Your game has a different script file & font file. (probably the whole build too.)
Both compressed and official versions are working as they should do.
But, if you're using an old save file, follow the next steps:

Chapter I-II are now reworked. (mainly the prologue & chapter I. Back then, we used a low-end hardware., which explains why the prologue had poor renders. Chapter II & III look pretty good, so there's no need for a rework

Ps: The android version weights 1.2G instead of 3.7G, and the reason is simple: The images are in .jpg, unlike the pc/mac versions which use .png.
You won't see any difference in render quality (unless you play it on a 20" screen, but I doubt that any mainstream tablet on mobile of that size exists, huh.
Anyway, "A picture is worth a thousand words" as they say, so have a look at a few scenes that we changed! (More have been changed, not just the ones showed below)

There's another thing. We added a "codex" section on the menu, it shows every character/kingdom. What can you expect there? Well, on the first page, it's a quick summary and on the 2nd,3rd... pages, it shows their past & present lore.
As you advance in the story, you will unlock new pages. (Chapter III & IV's codex possesses a higher number of pages & characters. )

It works fine if I do not install the WT mod. I already posted the info in the WT mod thread. I did not realize that the mod was for the pre-revised version of the game. Without the mod it works just fine. Sorry for not catching on faster to what was happening.You are doing something wrong.

The story is told through multiple characters in multiple locations, all of which I'm assuming are integral to the plot, so no I doubt it.

As promised, a few months ago, the tiers are being improved. I've added a new reward called the Cipher card. Every tier I+ supporter will receive a card/ cards and their full resolution cardless wallpaper.
- Your card will have a unique ID (I won't track you, and you can share the card, I don't mind XD). I will add the unique ID to our database (with your Patreon account). This ID gives you ownership of the card and after possessing 5+ cards (or 10+, 15+ etc...) You'll receive a special edition!
This month, I gift everyone with a free Cipher (1-2-3/3 & the three cardless wallpapers. The character is unnamed (for you!), its purpose, for now, is simply to show you how the rewards it looks!

What's a special edition?
- A card that you'll be the only one possessing.
- To thank our most devoted supporters!
- Well, the cards are only cosmetics, BUT; you are free to do whatever you want with it .
- The cards have three states: Idle, Offensive phase, wounded state. I inspired myself from the Fire Emblem mobile game. (If you are a fan of the franchise, you'll see that I inspired myself a loooot from them).
- The cards will also feature several styles of Art: Spring, Summer, Winter, Halloween... Etc!
