So I decided I want to play this. Which version should I buy? Correct me if I am wrong but the original is the more complete as far as story goes? the remake added some dialogue and music but the story isn't on par to the original as far as story progression?
The story for the 1.5 is about sixty-two thousand words; that's over half of the original. For images, it's about 2500 or so, which is around 2/3 of the original. Animations, it's got a lot less since it has a lot less sex scenes in it so far. For music & sound effects, it has far, far more than the completed game, since there was minimal music + sound effects, around 3x as many, eg, the original complete game has around 120 music + sound effects files in total, the 1.5 has about 350 or so.
Also, the newest edition, 1.6 of the remake, will be available on Sunday (two days) on all the platforms, which includes another 400 images or so, another eight thousand words of story, etc, and then around 40 music + sound effects. I'm still working on 1.6 so those numbers might change and I haven't written the release notes, so nothing is final, final until Sunday morning.
The updates are released monthly for the remake on all the platforms, too, while I'm working on it, and I expect based on my latest patreon update to finish by April, 2025 - initially, I was going for a smaller remake scope, but at this point, I'm re-doing near everything.
Edited to add:
If you buy the game anywhere, both versions are included, and always will be - on Steam, Itch, etc. Also when the remake is done, I'm still going to have available the original game, calling it the "Windows 10," version or something, to denote that it's an older version & no longer the canonical version. So next year, when folks buy it (if I'm so fortunate) it'll be the default for them to play the remake, and they'll have to consciously download the legacy version to play that variant.
