Well that's unfortunate. Can't say it wasn't at least a little expected though, really felt like the dev couldn't really figure out where he was going with the game's design. The NTR bullshit that got thrown in certainly didn't help either. I seriously have no idea what got in his head to think that was a good idea. Like, if you're going to include that, make it clear from initial launch that it'll be included at some point. Don't just shoehorn it into the story partway through, avoidable or not. But I digress.

The only real way to fix all the borked parts of this game, both mechanically and especially narratively, would be a full reboot, starting over from scratch. Hopefully having learned from the myriad mistakes he made with the original.

Shame though, I really liked Sola.

I'm moving on from Ren'py and DAZ to RPGMaker and Honey Select 2.

So he decided to make quick and dirty games with low effort characters in an engine that a lower number of people want to interact with. Sounds like a good way to quickly make a game played by 3 people on the whole of the internet for a net subscriber count of 1. Feels like wasted potential in my opinion as Sola was cute and was different from all of the generic LIs you find in most games. If they would have just made this a VN and let her be neurodivergent along side an introvert and extrovert character we could have had a story that could have come to include friends made as the story progressed and ended with a full harem game. Instead they chose to have us cleaning our room needlessly and checking a hamper 7+ times to advance a single scene. I wish them luck on the new doomed project they have created.

What a bad decision in terms of money .. his patron income was almost cut in half by this transition. Idk the whole story, about what majority complained, but I reckon the moaners in here did and not his supporters. Added to that, his downgrade to using illusion assets. This is definitely looking grim for the developer, if I were him I'd probably start anew.

But on the bright side, there won't be any NTR moaners complaining anymore. So I guess, it evens out emotionally.

Not surprised. Devs who make ntr or put in ntr into there game get some of the viliest shit mailed/messaged to them. Some even take hefty drop in money by removing the ntr if it means the messages/mails stop.

Like the some how makes it any less stupid, anyone with an IQ over room temp knows to leave NTR out of a game fully, or make it clear from the first release NTR will be in it.

don't know what to tell you man, i also talked about the issue in the past, but i also understand that some NTR-haters, are making even now a big fuss over ONE dream-scene where MC is cucked(bc he was scared of losing the main girl)

Yeah, but there is one thing you forget, where there is smoke, there is fire, everyone knows how hated NTR is, it is the devs fault, pure and simple, doesn't matter if it is a dream, it is far too hated by far too many people, and to just chuck it in with no prior warning is just fucking stupid.

Either way it's done now, dev killed his game no point going on about it.

I have to say this is not true, normal people are not this insecure. Porn game players are a special breed as most romance dramas, soap operas, Shakespeare, etc have a lot of people having sex with everyone, it's seen as regular dramatic conflict. But in eroges there's this "NTR" term that players are especially scared of, but you wouldn't be able to predict this if you came from more typical writing backgrounds instead of hentai forums.

It's 100% true, 5 minutes on this site is more than enough time to figure it out, there were several updates dev should have spent time looking into what people like or don't like, or just fucking ask, but I know it is 2024 and no one takes responsibility any more.
