Wait more 10 years in development and the chapter 1 will be released.
Shit if it takes 10 years then thats that. Don think itll take this long as his progress on trello seems more in the 2-4 year range. I would still play it in 10 years tho if thats how long it took. But to be fair to the dev, even with 3.5k a year in patreon pledges, minus the absolute absurd amount of money patreon takes in "fee's" is still in today economy, in most countries, only enough for one person to survive. So i assume there is only one person behind the game.
Would wish he would talk to us on his trello more tho. Right now its an update every 2-4 weeks of what he has been working on, whats been finished etc. but it lacks community interaction.

It's been 84 years....

Let's say a new update drops this year and it has 20 hours of gameplay + sandbox stuff.... it'd still not have been worth the wait.
I'll play it when it comes out, but i doubt i'll choose this over other top koikatsu games here that get semi regular updates.
According to Komi, that update will be about the size of the Prologue. I do have to give him tiny bit of credit, leaks that he shares do show very promising quality compared to the Prologue... If those leaks aren't just a cheap render or animation to sell to his supporters that he's "working" on the game...
Personally? I think that we will get that update...But I discourage people from supporting him over on Patreon

You are absolutely right! The dev only lied 5 times so far about the release/progress of the update without releasing anything for close to 4 years. I mean clearly there is no reason to doubt what Komi says… those ‘leaks’ are definitely solid proof, it’s not like many milkers have used that trick of posting renders to make the gullible think they are doing something when they weren’t, oh wait, yes they have. So yeah, you can definitely trust this dev to get that update you to, so just keep waiting.

Here is a little trip down memory lane from 2021, just look how close to being done he said he was all the way back then before he decided to stop updating his progress on Discord (because he wasn't actually doing any of this, if he was he would have had something to release long ago):

People in his discord are legit starting to straight up ask "when's the update" daily now and they're no longer getting insta-banned/flamed. Additionally, his patreon earnings are now down to less than 4k a month, so there are actually incentives for him to push out at least one more update. His incentives of course being that he isn't constantly bombarded with "when update" no matter where he looks (even in #dev-questions lmao) and to keep up his patreon donations for a few more years. We might only get one more update before Komi endlessly milks the idea of a new update for a decade then just leaves without saying anything, but it will at least be one more update and it will likely be soon.

Believe not in Komi the pathological liar, but in the discord community that he spends probably 8 hours a day in starting to legitimately ask questions instead of just endlessly glazing him (very surprising I know) and the cash-cow that is his subscriber-base beginning to no longer produce milk.

People 'legit' started to ask that all the way back in mid 2022 when the development time started getting close to 2 years at that point; that's when the dev promised to release the complete chapter 1 update before the end of 2022 and then changed it to early 2023, but then said he will release the Christmas update first for Christmas and released some random crap 5 months after Christmas. Later in 2023 he would say that he doesn't have the whole chapter 1 update but only has two thirds of the update and is going to release it in parts, and now it's 2025 and he hasn't released anything...

You see, the reason he hasn't released anything isn't simply to spite the players; it's because he doesn't have anything to release. Making an update is a lengthy and labor-intensive process, and just because people are starting to complain again doesn't mean that the update is going to just magically make itself. If he doesn't have anything to release by this point after 4 years, it's highly improbable that he will all of a sudden make an update now just because people are complaining again.

There is no need to lie to yourself and others, if a dev cannot or will not make an update in 4 years it's safe to say that the game is dead.

I'm more saying that A. He is making far less than he was, and will continue to make far less than he was back in 2022 (there's no way he wants to give up his cash cow) and B. unlike back in 2022/23 when people asked him they got banned/flamed, now they're just... not. So people are gonna get bolder and more persistent (straight up asking in #dev-questions repeatedly).

As I said, I don't for a second believe in Komi, instead I believe in the fact that Komi wants money and doesn't want to have "when update" constantly in his face on his glazing discord. The update will be severely underwhelming for sure, likely only a fourth of what was promised back in 2022, but it will be something (and likely the last thing he ever posts).

That or he just disappears in a few months.

Highly doubt there's gonna be any update. He's been happily milking thousands of dollars a month, living like a king in his country (top 1% earnings) while doing nothing to earn it. 4+ years and going strong.
If you are an H game dev, you should learn from him: make a promising first alpha version, do a couple regular, fast updates, just enough to rope in the fools, then, once the monthly payout looks good, halt all work and go enjoy life, while the fools being milked defend you for free because of sunk cost fallacy mentality. Bonus points if you drop a few useless GIFs every year along with empty promises to hook in more fresh tits full of milk.
