I actually dropped my patreon pledge because I felt they were moving to slow.

Not that I need game versions to come out every month, but I need to be told what has been done during the month so I know that some progress has been made.

People should chill. 1 version was great and shown a lot of promise. You can't expect quality content every month with massive branching, actual storyline and renders. Monthly updates are plain stupid and all they do is to cater to horny crowd's demand while breaking the games itself. 3 months or even half a year is something we can realistically expect if we wish for something more than linear fuckfest. I admit that soundtrack after 1 version isn't something people were expecting but I'm surely looking forward for new version.

Don't know if it's a bait or not but..
There's a lot of good games(some already completed) with massive branching, actual storylines and HQ renders that have and had updates every month or month and a half.

You said - ''Monthly updates are plain stupid and all they do is to cater to horny crowd's demand while breaking the games itself''.. I don't even know what to tell you.. You probably still wait for ''Teacher's Pets'' update. o_O

Like 90% of the games that take 3 months or half a year for one update don't deliver the good amount of content that should be there after this really long development time or they get abandoned/onhold tag and we never hear about them again, because devs milk their patreon community after a good start and premise.

I am not againts 3-4 month per release schedule. However, i expect content worth to 3-4 months time period. It all depends on the next update. First release was great and most of the people loved it, including me. That's why we are so patient with dev but as i said before, all depends on the content for the next release.

I've played most games on this site. Barely any of those updated monthly has branching more complex than 2-3 path, and probably none of them has any focus on the story. Because with monthly update you have to put in an update a lot of sex stuff to interest people and that way games swing from erotic scene to erotic scene without really anything inbetween. Monthly updates are just irrational and cancerous for a gameplay of almost any game other than linear VN. 3/6 months per update is rational time-wise. Yes some devs abuse it but I see that timeframe as a clearly superior to a monthly updates. Hell, monthly updates would disappear with Patreon cuz they exist only because of it. I wouldn't wait for an update to the game that is clearly underdeveloped but when I see a game like this, Valiant Warrior Astrid, Wife & Mother etc. I can wait half a year easily because I know what dev is capable of in such a timeframe. But hey, I preferred 1st version of Wife & Mother so I'm definitely not a typical player.

That's right. It all depends on a dev. This one released significantly above average game and should take his time. For me, if his update can reach the same or similiar size as the first version in a max 6 months it's worth it. More than that says that he won't finish it ever. 1 maybe 2 updates will tell what's dev is capable of.

As far as I'm concerned they can update once a year if they feel like it. At least have the honesty to charge per update then OR let your audience know what you worked on every month if you need that much time. They don't do any of that. I'm pretty sure we won't see an update any time soon

Originally, they were quite upfront saying that they intended to do bi-monthly releases so patrons knew what they were signing up for and yes it's been longer than that but they did say what they had been working on. The soundtrack. As previously said by @Olivia_V, it would have made more sense to speak about both the game and the soundtrack to keep patrons informed about development. The impression is that the team seem to have lost its way focusing on other things beside development so it's up to them to clarify things once again.

Yeah they seemed so focused on the sound track on the Patreon... They seemed so aloof, the comments from most of the patreon supporters were pretty miffed. I didn't complain myself since it seems rude, I just ended my Patreon until I think development is back on track.

Judging from the official posts I was under the impression that the devs were busy

a) remodelling several characters (posts like and )
b) working on episode 2, which will also have a larger scale than the first one ( from December 3rd).

So, ideally, by now they have finished updating (re-rendering) episode 1 with the new character models and are knee-deep into episode 2 - maybe (gasp! Yeah, I'm being bold here) even close to releasing, at least announcing it.

Here's also hoping that now they have layed the groundwork of the game - (remodelled) main characters, (remade) episode 1, soundtrack - further releases won't take as long.

But still, it should have been clear from the start that this is no ordinary porn game, but an ambitious adult title, where the devs strive for quality, not for monthly releases.

Only time will tell if they will succeed and High Life will turn into the extraordinary game I assume everyone is hoping for - or if the devs end up out of funds and out of touch with reality in their ivory tower.

One would hope that not only do their patrons temper their expectations, but the developers do as well.

It certainly is beginning to look overly ambitious.

Ep 1 was good enough that I'm willing to cut them significant amounts of slack. But the longer it takes before the next episode the higher expectations will be, which can turn out to be self-defeating.

I am a little concerned about some of the things they've said with the branching choices, I've seen a loooot of games, porn or otherwise, that start off with tons of stats and hooks for reactivity and then immediately melt down because it takes ten times as much effort to work with that than it is to create it. Hopefully they can keep it reasonable (i.e. modest dialogue changes and callbacks within the same episode and so on)

(It occured to me that if they never do another release that would make 2018 a very cursed year (Humbling experience, Coceter Chronicles, Milfs Tale, etc))

Although, GGGB is exactly the case in point with too many branching choices. People are already complaining about the short length of the updates, because servicing all routes mean that each route can advance only incrementally every update.

The real problem of gggb are not the choices, which enrich the game *a lot* and ore totally welcome. The real problem is that barely halfway through the game the story and characters became really dull, mainly because the developer stripped away from the game eveything that wasn't "politically correct" sex. Whereas it could have been really really interesting to follow different facets of the MC in different situations, it's a while now that I couldn't care less about how things evolve.

A question for Erosion's patrons... Do the devs respond to queries over the release date? I don't know if they ever gave a release schedule or anything...
