It all depends on what you're looking to do, a "VN style" render or an artistic render.
It also depends on the time of day, you will put very little light on when it is daylight, as in your example?
Have you seen my other renders, on other games eventually, or in the thread "Show us your Daz skills"?
There are some who are more in the "artistic" perspective.
And I've only been working on Daz Studio for several months.
And I learn all the time.

If you look at the author's work, most daylight renderings have shadows.
This does not mean that your work is bad. It's just that Erosion's style is different from yours because of the lighting.
Here's my "fan art" in daylight. Not perfect, but the lighting does its job. IMHO.

I'm sure that if we open a fan High Life thread some users could post more renders than the Dev himself and with a so big quality , some pictures are really amazing....
