The game's been showing something quite different, in fact.
Truth is that we only had 2 major branching decisions: 1) in the beginning either choosing Lucy or entering Charlotte's path; 2) either boning Kayla as a fuckbuddy or not-boning her (it might become a problem with the family girls, I guess).
In the meanwhile we raised Emma points and became her he-might-become-my-stepdaddy and witnessed Suzi become less important than a flower vase on a table in the living room.

Seeing as this game is a slow burn I'd assume its far from over so there's still time to develop the romance path for Suzy. MC being her white knight is only the stepping stone for their eventual relationship, whether that's friendship or more. I know everyone expected her to hop on the MCs dick after he came to her rescue and if this was a porn game then that probably would've happened. But this is not that, it's a story focused game that focuses on relationship building, trust building etc. In addition to the main story of course.
So yes The MC came to her aid but she still doesn't know if she can really trust him. Maybe she already had a guy in the past who she thought she could trust but then he fucked her over so now like her mom she has trust issues. I don't know we'll see.
That said tho, if this game is nearing its end then yeah your point holds up cause so far there hasn't really been any proper build for her path. But hopefully it's the former and not the latter.

The dev plans were discussed here not that long ago - htf dev intends to make Emma an adult (aka legitimate LI), htf Suzy is supposed to warm up (fully) towards the mc, and htf Charli will accept mc as male partner and get over her fears.

The best answer to these questions would be - fast forward few years, bump, everything has changed - a happy epilogue!
Either that or - everything will be revealed in "Hillside 2 - the mc is getting closer", while Hillside 1 will remain as a simple prologue

it but apparently we're getting close to the end but I don't know how true it is

and I can't remember where but I heard somebody say ones that we have two small update

and then one big update and that's the end but I don't know if it's true so take it with a grain of salt

I absolutely love slow burns more than anything but if the ending is Rush players are going to know

and it's not going to be pretty

players have been looking forward to Charlotte's route

Yeah you are right but that path is on the roll already. When Lucy asked about MC to Suzy, she implied she have some romantic feelings towards MC. We may have a "tsundere" type of relationship path with her.

She did huh? I can't remember that much. Im not really that into her story yet as there's not much to get into. perhaps i wasnt that clear above - when i have said "here was a discussion regarding devs plans" i mean the people here were discussing when the dev announced his intention to finish it in just few episodes more (so hence those few major questions regarding individual paths and characters advancements).
and when i have said "the best answer would be", that was a speculation of mine, half-jokingly ofc (hopefully it will stay that "just a joke" way ).

She goes like 'I just hate him, or I think I do' then Lucy asks her 'what do you mean, do you have feelings for him?' and she answers 'maybe, I don't know but I should figure it out soon since I am coming back to house soon.'

Don't know about u tho, but I couldn't care less about the sex stuff. I just want a good slow burn story. whether it's action, romance, comedy, drama or all of em combined I'll be happy. and of course characters that a lot of thought were put into,as well as multiple choices that actually has an impact on the narrative.

But yeah it sucks that this game might not be what I thought it would be. Like it won't change my opinion on that it's a really good game and has a nice story, but I can't say I won't be disappointed if it's rushed. Doesn't matter how good a story is, if the ending is rushed the entire story gets ruined you know. But we'll see my dude, hopefully we get what we want
