RTFM is correct. While the guide does not answer all questions it does answer a lot of them.

How is day 73 near a multiple of 50 days?
Depends on your rules of course. Given a wide enough margin it can be. But the wording of the event in the phone suggests the rule in this case is quite a bit tighter. In my case near 50 days was exactly 50 days.
You know what they say: 1+1=3 for large 1's and small 3's.
