Do girls sometimes have a week off? I've been trying to assign Alice as the doctor but she is not on the list when I get to select the doctor. I can not even assign her as a reception girl.

Not sure that is the cause, but was she on the island when the week was calculated? If not, that would be a logical reason for her not to be on the available list.

If she is not assigned to reception and you can't find her in the doc assignation list that means that she is already set a doc duty.

I don't remember the rules, but isn't it posssible for girls to have multiple duties? I think that is needed at the start when there are only a few girls on the island. There may be a lack of candidates for a duty otherwise.

Edit: isn't that one of the reasons Delizia was made staff because you could otherwise send all doctor candidates off the island. Delizia being staff guarantees there is at least one doctor left.

Delizia was made staff because the game's resort guest role (compete for an island spot) and its starting line up (ultra wide) turned out to have some challenges.

Nurse office placement / doctor story arc were not for game mechanic reasons (I'll skip the reasons).

That right there. I did not want to invite Lacey or Brenda. Then I saw I would need Brenda for scenes with Jennifer. When she arrived I had to wait 50 days for that to happen. Torture.
