I wish there was a patch to remove the censorship.
I don't understand why Japanese developers don't self-publish their games on Steam? In Japan, do they put you in jail if you sell your games in non-Japanese stores?
Why do they necessarily need publishers who add new bugs to their games? That's stupid. Tell them about successful indie developers.
From what I've read, no they can't. That's why a Japanese publisher like Shiravune releases exactly 0 uncensored games.
Same goes for the devs of course.
Though this publisher also plays localizer. All the (or most anyway) Japanese DEV can do is automated MTL after all. Though dlsite's been doing 'official' AI MTL for Japanese games for a while now too. Again, not uncensored.
That's why they go through foreign publishers/localizers like Kagura or their competitors.
Also, any and all bugs resulting from the translation could just as well be introduced by the DEV himself. Plenty of these games launch with a crapton of bugs and get bugs introduced after content updates etc.
Some games have gone through a ton of maintenance updates before even reaching the publisher to start the TL work. The last Poison release for example was a total disaster.
So it ain't like 'the DEV' is omnipotent or something.
I don't agree blaming the publisher/localizer for any bugs and treating the DEV as holier than thou is very fair. What IS fair is criticising the publisher if they don't actually fix those bugs post-release.
