I think the big problem is that many Devs, that abandon their games early, just see the money some of the big games make and they think this comes overnight and when it doesn't they just give up.

It was 2 or 3 months ago another Dev released his first game didn't get support overnight and abandoned the game but at least he started another game even if the first one interested me more.

Damn I thought this game would be the next big thing around here.
Unfortunately there are heaps and heaps of games that start off really strong and have potential to become amazing. I've read a ton of first chapters of books that are very strong and then the authors lose steam and abandon them as well. It's really quite a sad thing. Far too many artists allow inspiration to control them instead of staying in control of inspiration. Inspiration is like a flame: it is beautiful and full of life, but left unchecked it can destroy a story.

Well when the dev has no supporters, and if he wanted to make a life from this, it is to be expected.
