If only they arent useless fucks like Namco Bandai and Illusion. I'm still shocked that we've reached 2024 and these japanese devs cannot for the life of them create a game that isnt shit or misses something with all the big and popular IPs they have.
That's the point, they aren't in it to make good games. Despite what you might think good games don't make as much money as shovelware. Illusion asset-flips constantly to keep down production costs. I mean even this game is just honey-select but in koikatsu style. Even the whole "we're not illusion but we are illusion" is probably some sort of legal tactic to avoid bankrupcy consequences.
I used to visit a friend every other year, and there was this furniture store that had a different name each time. I asked him about it and he said that they just file bankrupcy, change the name and sell it to a family member or friend.
Namco def went full "don't care about the quality just want money" mode, although I will admit they were really stupid not to at least make that last silent hill. The hype for the PT demo, which cost them almost nothing to make, would have made enough money on word of mouth alone.
