how's the modding community going? there will be the possibility to port cards from KK or KKS?
Unlikely. Technically it is possible with the base models (at least someone managed to do it, seethere will be the possibility to port cards from KK or KKS?
that's what concerns me, in every modded game, the modding community doesn't really move from a game to another without a very good reason, and i don't think that there's a good reason to pass from KK/KKS to HC since i know the gmeplay isn't that different and nowadays the content revolves around the studio for the most so players'made content. i don't really understand why Illusion made this game basically just to be a remastered of old games (that have good graphics with mods anyway)Unlikely. Technically it is possible with the base models (at least someone managed to do it, seeYou must be registered to see the linksfor example), but KK and KKS has so many mods and maps without a HC counterpart that it's unlikely that a converted scene could be displayed in any meaningful way, therefore I don't believe any modders working on a converter.
(Also note that the linked scene is a KK scene with a HC character in it and not the other way around.)
Illusion made this game because they quickly needed to cook something after the financial issues related to poor Room Girl sales. The game is just a simplified HS2. It takes less than an hour to get all achievements, open all maps and max out relationships (the pace is the same for any character type) and there is norhing left do after that. But somehow it worked and sales grew up.that's what concerns me, in every modded game, the modding community doesn't really move from a game to another without a very good reason, and i don't think that there's a good reason to pass from KK/KKS to HC since i know the gmeplay isn't that different and nowadays the content revolves around the studio for the most so players'made content. i don't really understand why Illusion made this game basically just to be a remastered of old games (that have good graphics with mods anyway)
Maybe in 5 years HC will be at the same level of KK/KKS now
well at least HS2 was something, i don't understand what's difficult in making a story mode or a damn gameplay loop in their "anime-like" games like HC, they could have made a fantasy game same as KK or HC and put some turn based combat sistem as every lazy asf developer does. it's not a secret wich gameplay mechanics are the lowest in effort with good results like that shitty cafè games or classic visual novels with just dialogues.Illusion made this game because they quickly needed to cook something after the financial issues related to poor Room Girl sales. As for modding scene, the game has been released on IL2CPP which didn't even have a BepInEx support at that time, even now there are barely any plugins made for that. The game didn't spark any interest in community and modders and it's factually abounded.
We have SamaBake now which actually has some kind of gameplay and uses the same models, style and editor. New ILLGAMES games come up every year with little difference and poor gameplay which doesn't allow the community to take time and create.
Oh, but there is more to it. The engine is completely different under the hood (instead of C# scripting, it uses IL2CPP scripting).that's what concerns me, in every modded game, the modding community doesn't really move from a game to another without a very good reason, and i don't think that there's a good reason to pass from KK/KKS to HC
The answer is, Illusion lost all of its intellectual property when it went down without a legal successor, and the devs started a brand new company. Therefore the devs needed a "fresh" game under the banner of IllGames to save all that tech into their new company.i don't really understand why Illusion made this game basically just to be a remastered of old games
That's accurate imho.Maybe in 5 years HC will be at the same level of KK/KKS now
But that's exactly what IllGames did with their second game, Summer Vacation! Scrambled (see here).it's not a secret wich gameplay mechanics are the lowest in effort with good results like that shitty cafè games or classic visual novels with just dialogues.
oooh ok, so they actually losed team members too that's explain a lot.Oh, but there is more to it. The engine is completely different under the hood (instead of C# scripting, it uses IL2CPP scripting).

Same HC engine, you're running around and trigger stupid dialogues with the girls to fuck 'em. That's its gameplay.
I don't think that. I believe all former Illusion devs are now working at IllGames, they might even using the same desk and the same computer at work (but I could be wrong on this). What they have lost for sure is not members but the legal right to their previous games (and this was intentional and deliberate if I'm not mistaken).oooh ok, so they actually losed team members too that's explain a lot.
I think you're 100% correct and I 100% agree. But it's not just the game companies. You can see this everywhere: some shithead greedy jerk manager forces profit maximalization above anything else, without giving a shit about their users; and that's exactly why users leave them and they loose profit... It is always the same old story over and over again.the point is that I don't understand why game companies behave this way, they should know their fanbase by now, and instead of making modding easier or improving social features like card sharing etc. they kill the longevity of the game by denying the community to gather around the game.
is true that they're a japanese company that revolves for the most around the japanese fanbase but still they wouldn't be no one without forums and sites like Bepis ecc. even just making the game moddable through the steam workshop would grant them a lot of sales from steam
The Illusion legal status is a mystery to this day, because some of the Illusion members separated and created Illumination which is making a VR Kanoujo remake. In theory Illgames should still have rights of Illusion as most of the staff are there. Also I believe that some of the old staff members have left the company throuth these 30+ years, which would explain the downhill of gameplay quality.I don't think that. I'm no lawyer, but I'm sure the IP belongs to the company and not to the employees, so it's not "inherited" if some of the staff leaves and creates a new company. They might use the know-how of the tech to create a new, similar IP, but that's going to be a new, independent IP. (If it's not, or too similar, then the old company can sue them.)The Illusion legal status is a mystery to this day, because some of the Illusion members separated and created Illumination which is making a VR Kanoujo remake.
Again, the IP did not belong to the staff, but to the company as a legal entity, and Illusion has no legal successor for sure. On the other hand by releasing HC, now IllGames (the company, not the staff) most certainly has the IP rights to all tech used in HC (which, as we all know, almost the same tech in practice, but not 100% the same). In theory Illgames should still have rights of Illusion as most of the staff are there.
to me it's just bad marketing and that's it. because games like genshin have THEIR OWN SOCIAL MEDIA: Mhyoyo Lab, so people can talk like a reddit about mhyoyo games,so they monopolize social media without leaving the matter to reddit, forums etc. because they know that the game doesn't end just in the .exe they release.I don't think that.
