Perhaps I won't tell Inui that his game is causing this generational war over file management knowledge.
please don't. the man has already been through a lot of personal things, let's leave him alone to focus on his work and his recovery.
i'm not getting it, what is the problem to begin with.

With a single click, he could cut the number of posts to this thread in half.

People have actually told him this in the past, but he's insistent on keeping to the method that he knows. Of course, simply reading the installation instructions in the first post could also fix the number of posts asking about installation issues, but people are often far too lazy to read the first post or use the search function to try and find the solution before posting.

nothing wrong with 5 part files, besides it doesn't even took 5 minutes to unzip, copy the data in part 2 - 5 and paste it inside the part 1 file, or just wait for the devs to complete his game and buy it. cheers
sry to have to ask, but is your avatar pic of a character you made in honey select 2 or is it from a game on f95?

Well...you've basically mentioned the similar games and you should already know WHY no one else even attempts it.

Seriously, this game is a massive dedication for relatively little gain. And people see that.

If Inui was "smart", he would most likely do a western-dev move - develop a decent, eye catching prototype and milk it on Patreon for years without anything of value being added for years. We are lucky he doesn't but it's a rarity these days.

Another angle is that people know they will always compete and be compared against both Inui and Kairi, so the bar is relatively high in terms of amount of content and work ethics (regular updates). If I were to finally go with my own miserable attempts at h-dev gamemaking, I'd NEVER try to do anything even remotely similar to HotM because I know the biggest compliment I'd ever get would be "oh, it's HotM clone"...which is not what one would want to hear about their work.
I mean... I can think of worse ways to earn bank, maybe I oughta start a Patreon or SubscribeStar with a rudimentary h-game and ensure my rent, if nothing else, is sorted, lol.

i see, so it is the "people that far too lazy to read" as the main problem, because like i said before, it's only took me 3-4 minutes to unzip all those things and play the game. i still place the game on my 15 years old HDD, and it's still run just fine.. for those who got infinite loading thing, i would recommend to turn off windows defender and antivirus before installing the game.

yep, it's the first one.

You are aware, that there are still places with NO internet at all.
How exactly is that relevant? Like how would they be on this site? They're not even part of the equation/argument.

This. (See above Inquiry/comment) - Dyhart

Also it eats up enough of my time to have to upload it to three different sites and create the post. I'm not going to start combining all parts into a single archive for you. Do the work, it won't kill you, and if you haven't noticed.. these gooners might actually be learning something anyway.
Hey look don't get me wrong. It's manageable. I'm just agreeing that it's annoying. It's no-ones fault but my own if I skip an update and choose not to at least download the update only file.

I'm seriously more concerned with what to do next, as the in game guide just says "thanks for playing" Apparently I need the sewage next.

On one hand - if there are morons willing to pay to someone for a "dream", let them pay.
On the other - it has been proven time and time again that it breaks the market and creates bad environment for those who actually want to make or support promising projects...you simply have hard time knowing at what moment what project is going to start scamming.

It's the same stuff as with OnlyFans, Tinder, IG etc. - one can ignore it or make a living out of it but you can't ignore the negative impact it has on vast majority of people, often not even involved in the shitshow.

Antivirus isn't the issue at all, it's failing to understand they need to manually extract and combine the files. Now, if you intended this as a joke that they deserve to get viruses on your computer, that's a different thing entirely.

Absolutely agree on the search part, number of times i've seen someone ask a question answered -directly above- their post is next tier humour.
Checking the first post though isn't something that can be reasonably expected, since it isn't for 99% of any other games on the entire platform.
If a clock is off by an hour, would you adjust it, or post a sign in the downstairs office saying 'the clock is wrong', then call people an idiot for not knowing the clock is wrong?

That's a crazy take. The first post (in general, not just this game) has so much info, including common bugfixes, links to mods, full saves, other games by the same developer, and so on. It should be the FIRST stop to see things about the game, including if there's a common issue you have. It's not posting a sign that the clock is wrong on a different floor, it's posting a sign on the door saying it's a push door and constantly seeing people trying to pull it.

nah.. i've experienced it myself, i forgot to turn off my antivirus/windows defender before install the update, the game all of sudden going with white infinite loading. i turn it off before install and then voila the game works just fine, its even there in the tutorial how to install the game.

You're the guy who walked into a Ferrari dealership and asked the attendant, "yea so why don't you guys have mini-vans here?"

Also there hasn't been a humanoid combat sequence since like.. 2-3 years now. You just wake up to this realization sleeping beauty?

Yea welcome to what we had to do in the late 90's-early 2000s buddy boy. This is the part where boys become men. Where you actually learn how to do file I/O on a god damn operating system. If you ladies keep bitching I'm going to share the next release as a single split CAB archive with each piece password protected, and to get the password you gotta signup on some dead ass phpBB forum somewhere and read it on page 13 paragraph 2 and 43 words in to the post (IYKYK).

Then you little gooners won't know WHAT the hell to do!
my bad I take back what i said. ill stop bitching, i am real man now. i figured it out

ehhh...someone REALLY NEEDS TO PIN THIS to the first post.
In 90% of the cases, this exact freeze happens because you DID NOT extract and merge all archives. It simply freezes because one of the files is missing but game won't throw an error about it.
Other 10% of the cases are due to system locale issue during play OR during extraction of the archives (should no longer be an issue but used to be).

Wouldn't say it's on the door since it's technically hidden by a drop down (what I call 'in another room')
Lets meet half way and truly make it a 'push vs pull' on the handle
Big, bright, attention grabbing warning directly above the downloads that are unmissable would be my alternative suggestion

I do agree the install instructions should be updated on the first post. It still thinks there's only two archives in the spoiler

or like some japanese devs who just post articles on their ci-ens for months without making any real progress
inui is great and he does work
