Wouldn't say it's on the door since it's technically hidden by a drop down (what I call 'in another room')
Lets meet half way and truly make it a 'push vs pull' on the handle
Big, bright, attention grabbing warning directly above the downloads that are unmissable would be my alternative suggestion

Feel free to report it. Maybe you'll luck out and a mod will change the first post. I tried for like 1.5 years, reporting every once in a while, to get it changed to what it is now.

Wait, just to be completely clear... the path towards getting this game downloaded and working, is essentially downloading the same thing five times and just overwriting the files with each archive? JFC who hurt this dev and why does he desire to hurt his audience the same way. Last time I think I saw something this ass backward developmentally was back in the Windows 3.1 days.

It's just an older style of file uploading, which is still valid to do, it's just that a lot of people are too lazy to manually combine files (and worst don't bother to try and look if there's a solution already posted before asking the same questions over and over). It's definitely not been that long, and depending on where you live it can be necessary. Not everyone has good or consistent internet, so a single large file upload / download can take a LONG time and risk the entire thing failing if the internet gets interrupted for even a fraction of a second.

This.

Also it eats up enough of my time to have to upload it to three different sites and create the post. I'm not going to start combining all parts into a single archive for you. Do the work, it won't kill you, and if you haven't noticed.. these gooners might actually be learning something anyway.
Keep doing you mate, I appreciate the uploads.

i cannot for the life of me figure out how to get to the stage with the new moth and larvae enemies, anyone know?
I dunno how to get there "officially" but loading up this save gets you there.

That being said, how EXACTLY does the escaping work in this? One grab it seems to work one way, another grab it seems to a different way, and most of the time it doesn't seem to follow the same rules twice in a row?

There was fella a bit back asking too, anyone awesome enough to upload a fully unlocked save?
Does anyone even look at the cien links anymore?

( latest post with the save link at the bottom)

(save link for latest)

If you want gallery, just go download the Gallery unlocked file in the search menu on this thread. posted it god knows when but still works.

They don't bother to look at the first post, use the forum search function, or read anything before asking the exact same question about the same "bug" just replied to. Get used to it, it's been getting more frequent online (in general not just here) for people to not bother doing anything to try and find a solution / info before posting a question.

Somebody doesn't practice what they preach. The last few saves posted up there ONLY unlock the new stage and what I guess is the first stage or something of the sort. There's been other complaints made that not all the saves unlock all the stuff in the game. If you paid any attention, you'd see I even shared the latest save to a fella having a hard time finding the new content. On this page in the thread no less.

It isn't a big ask in these forums for saves for these types of games, but I guess the "git gud" mentality from gaming proper has spread to our niche as well. Especially for us jumping in this late in the game, this thread exists for things like sharing the full save, since people like me aren't going to know if the previous saves on cien also excluded content. Nevermind the fact that going to foreign sites, jumping through translation hoops, and playing russian roulette with files, hoping one works the way you'd like it to is a much larger pain in the ass than taking 10 seconds and uploading it here.

Not sure why you're replying to me. I've not posted anything about saves in this thread at all, but about the people who constantly fail to install the game correctly.

On many other threads (NOT THIS ONE) there's often a save linked in the first post for the completed game, or even worse IN THE DOWNLOAD ALREADY (sometimes you can just enter the gallery and unlock it yourself). Then you'll still get people asking for a full save in the thread. Now, if you refuse to use the japanese equivalent of patreon combined with steam, that's on you.

I have no issues if it's an obscure issue with the fix buried deep in the thread, but there's SO DAMN MANY TIMES that the fix is in the first post or talked about within the last page or two of the thread. People are legitimately too lazy to take any amount of effort before posting in same many threads. The "git gud" mentality you mentioned isn't being better at the game (in this case for me at least) but wanting people to at least TRY.

Last, I'm going to post on this now, since I've said my piece. I'll likely just wait until the next update, and inevitable "WHY THE BLACK SCREEN HAPPEN!?!?!?!?" posts

ehhh...someone REALLY NEEDS TO PIN THIS to the first post.
In 90% of the cases, this exact freeze happens because you DID NOT extract and merge all archives. It simply freezes because one of the files is missing but game won't throw an error about it.
Other 10% of the cases are due to system locale issue during play OR during extraction of the archives (should no longer be an issue but used to be).
Dude...
I have bad news for you, dear expert
EVEN after complete reinstal, unpacking ALL 5 files it freezes at the same place!

Then you (likely) still failed to install correctly... This is a guild I wrote back when the game only had 2 parts, repeat for parts 3+ until you've done all the steps for all the parts. You may also want to check your antivirus settings, though I personally never had issues with that others say they have.

Full in Depth New Installation Guide (for Windows)

Step 1: Download both Part1 and Part2 of the game.

Step 2: Use 7zip (or your preferred extractor, but I recommend 7zip) to extract both part 1 and part 2 to your computer, but NOT into the default "programs" or "windows" folders.
View attachment 1602036

Step 3: Go into the part 2 folder. Then copy the files in that folder.
View attachment 1602038

Step 4: Go into the Part 1 files and paste the copied files into it.
View attachment 1602039

Step 5:A window will pop up asking you if you want to combine the folders, click yes.

You are done. That is how to correctly install the game.

I feel like there might be more to his installation not working. When I unpacked the files, there never was a "overwrite file?" prompt, which leads me to believe all archives have distinct files.

If you're loading a previous save, try starting a new game, just in case there's something fucky with your save file.
