My apologies if this is a redundant question, but I find the description kinda confusing (in regards to the protagonists), does the game force me to switch protagonists after a while (from Chapter 5 onward i'd assume)? Or is it possible to start and play the entire game with the 1st protagonist? (I have 0 interest in the 2nd for personal reasons, not cause there's anything wrong with the game).

Game split onto chapters, each chapter is a story of a new character aka you 'start from the beginning'.
Thank you, that is an interesting concept & means that I could always just do the chapters I like from the start multiple times if I end up not liking a character. Definitely gonna give this game a go.

Ehhh, by 'start from the beginning' I meant" you "start with the fresh zero level characters in completely new surrounding". Like first chapter is about wandering in a magical world and fifth is about warhammer 40k mechanicus life or so.
So they are independent stories played with different characters?

Yes. Developer stated that in the end their stories converge, but thats a thing for a grim darkness of future.

Chapters 1-5 are the introductions to the 5 main characters. Each is independent of the other. Chapters 6+ will bring them together and continue the story. At least that's my understanding from reading their site.

I'd say there's a good 4-8 hours of content for each chapter so far. More if you decide to go for all the achievements.
The main plot-lines are fairly straight forward, but to get the best results for each chapter you need to do some if not all of the side quests. Most of the achievements are fairly easy but the Paragon related ones are tough.
