Save Editor is a godsend for this. I swear that every aspect of how this is set up starting from the dialogue menu selections is pure rage bait.

I don't see where the grind is unless you go on a blind exploration without following the walktroughs.
I think you underestimate how many people will do this. Usually, that’s the whole point of a game—especially a sandbox—and consulting the walkthrough is either a last resort, or a way to ensure you don’t miss specific content you really want to see. Compulsory walkthroughs were a thing in 90’s point-and-click adventures, and I think most people will agree that they didn’t elevate the medium.

As for my two cents, I’d like to point out that, before getting any upgrades, it’s essentially impossible to fight any zombies to clear the way. Since harvesting resources always has a chance of dropping a zombie on you, and because, at the start game, you’re too weak to fight off more than one zombie before going home to rest (unless you consume a lot of precious resources), this means that you can never get into a fight with a wandering zombie, as you need to keep all your strength for the inevitable ambush. It also means that, once you have been ambushed while harvesting resources, you need to call it quits for that day, as you can’t survive a second random encounter.

Finally, the animations are way too long. I get the point—harvesting takes time and needs to expose you to risks—but five seconds is way overkill (and gets really irritating with the repetitive harvesting noise). Considering the speed at which zombies move, you could probably cut it down to two seconds, in my opinion; maybe even one and a half.

It could be severely relieved by making the early zone zombies significantly weaker. As it is, a standard zombie in the start area can kill you, in like 4-5 hits. You need to hit them 3-4 times with the stick to take them out. So you can't really do more than one. That means it takes a lot of time to clear areas, if it's even possible. It means it takes a long time to gain experience. It means the start of the game is an extremely slow drag of trying to harvest one resource pile, surviving the zombie encounter, going home to recover, repeat ad nauseum. It's not fun. It's not intuitive - you shouldn't need a walkthrough, a game should give you a good idea of what you're supposed to do.

If the early zombies were half as strong, in both terms of HP and Attack power, it wouldn't be nearly as much as a slog.

Also, dev, if half a dozen people are telling you the same thing and explaining why that part of the game is a problem, it's not a good look to say "No, you're all just doing it wrong, the game's fine."

Thanks, I figured out from what you said that the MC can consume gathered food in your backpack to recharge health in the field. Allows to to stay out long when gathering.

Getting constantly attacked ...
I have tried to explain this to dev couple of times... he just insists that we are doing it wrong and its our fault.

How can I find Jeanne?
I never said it was your fault. On the other hand, I said :
  • It is possible to heal yourself between fights using food and drinks.
  • You can find an NPC (Lin) who uses a lab to create potions that can heal you, increase your strength, increase your defense, or cure the knockout. The lab needs to be improved.
  • At the beginning of the game, there are a large number of resources in the base, it's up to you whether you prefer to use it to create equipment to go into battle or use it to build Elizabeth's room.
  • You can have as much equipment as you want in your inventory. If there is 1 that breaks during the fight, you can replace it by choosing the last option from the battle menu.
  • You have a one in five chance of making noise and getting attacked by a zombie (unless you use any cheating program, it will reverse the %).
  • You can collect water from the river with the bucket that Kate shows you at the beginning of the game, then you have to sterilize it with the campfire. In the "additional construction" section, it is possible to modify the bucket to a pump to collect more water and this can be improved to get more and decrease the harvesting time.
  • Areas with more powerful zombies give more during harvest.
  • Kate's workshop can be upgraded to get more or more powerful equipment.
  • Wearing multiple pieces of defense equipment decreases the likelihood of losing them quickly. 1 random piece of equipment loses 1 durability per hit. In addition, each increases your defense. The lvl2 equipment makes you invulnerable against R1 zombies. The same goes for lvl3 and R2 zombies.
  • You can make repair kits at Kate's workshop to repair equipment.
  • You have 3 NPCs to find who join the fight with you. You just have to search in the important places to find them.
  • There are 4 firearms to find (1/ fighter). They give a big advantage in combat but consume ammunition.
  • Sophia (one of the fighters) allows you to unlock another workshop to make items to throw during the fights (you have to follow her walkthrough). In this room, it is possible to make ammunition for firearms.
  • Jessie can grow vegetables that are salvageable every day around noon. Just follow her walkthrough. In addition, she gives you a side quest by asking you to find bags of soil. Each bag allows you to add 2 vegetables per day.
  • The "To do" is used to know how the game works.
  • NPC walkthroughs unlock new rooms in the base and gain new perks. They also unblock sexual content (when it's available). All sandbox RPGs work with a quest system. I can name several very well-known ones that have just been released.
  • You can move the zombies by making them run after you and then go get the crops. Warning: the zombies will walk without stopping to return to the place where they were before running after you. They don't see you if you're behind their backs.
  • There are also opportunities to obtain resources without the risk of fighting.
I think that's quite a few solutions in the game that can solve the problems you just mentioned. And it's not over because there are still other NPCs that need to be added, there will be 2 more bases (to visit), other bonuses that need to be added (example: modify tools to reduce the harvesting time or more), a fast travel system, and much more.

I think I have answered everything. All of this is in the game and the explanations are given every time you unlock something. You can also find all this on the GameFaq. If you need more explanations or if I forgot something, you can always ask your questions ;)

Any word on upping the amount of metal available to find? I need metal to make weapons to defeat Level 3, as well as to build stuff.

You have a one in five chance of making noise and getting attacked by a zombie (unless you use any cheating program, it will reverse the %).
Well, this would be the case but due to the amount of copy+pasting of code you've done, out of the 2717 instances of a noise being made: 1941 of them are a 20 in 100 (or 1 in 5) chance, while 776 of them are a 30 in 100 chance (or 3 in 10).

So effectively, there's a 71.44% chance of it being a 20% chance and a 28.56% of it being a 30% chance; or combine them: an overall 22.86% chance of you making a noise and getting attacked by a zombie.

Also "a cheating program", in order to change the odds, would need to interfere with any of command122 parsing with parameter[3] being 2; Math.randomInt or Math.random, none of which the game checks so I'm not sure why you'd make that remark.

Anyone know where to gather metal, cause I can't even keep up with repairing my weapons? Metal seems to be the problem, cause I can get everything else a lot easier.

I looked for the house but couldn't find it pls help
There are floors to this farm ;)

As I said, there are methods to get resources without fighting. Example: You will find a dead person in regions with 0 DANGER. There is a 1/4 chance of getting metal by searching the bag next to the body. I'm working on another method of getting metal but it's not available yet. It is possible to repair weapons using only wood.

Well, this would be the case but due to the amount of ...
Several people complain that this % is not true when you have just proven that it is + or - equals and most of them who agreed to answer me told me that they use save modifiers.

This is not the only bug that can be caused by this. Example: The MC that goes through all the obstacles, infinite fights with monsters that are added to the death of another, Time system no longer works properly, ....

So what happend to the characters status bars. I have no idea what the health is durning a fight? They were there in 13
There was a change in one of the previous versions and I warned that it was a bug that could happen to players who have saves from older versions. I tried adding a fix for this but it doesn't work. So either you have to keep playing with this bug or the only way to make it go away is to launch a newgame.

PS : Escape has been disabled because given the fighting style when you leave the fight, the zombie is still there and he restarts the fight but with a full life.
For the durability of the equipment, I already explained that I had asked the person who created this addition if it was possible to use a code to display all the durability of each piece of equipment but he doesn't answer me.

I dunno guys, the dev said everything's fine if you just use the walkthrough. :KEK:
It seems to me that my answer is much longer than what you say. By the way, I'm putting the link for you so that you can go and read again. Between 1 line and 39, there is a huge difference.

I don't give a fuck if a mod gave it a 4-star rating, and that review was left 4 months ago. So not really sure what your point here is with that comment.

All I know is that when there are bunch of comments saying "I keep getting killed early in the game trying to get resources so I can progress to the rest of the game", and your responses boil down to "just get resources and upgrade your shit" it's like we're talking past each other.

You really need to go reread the list of 18 things I gave yesterday and read this rating that talks about these complaints. You get stuck on the number of stars when I just indicated it so that you can find it more easily.

Why so much rudeness? It seems that I am polite so it would still be better to do the same.
