I quite like the way you write in your games, it's probably the reason I liked house arrest and solvalley school so much... I hope you don't change it in the future!
Sometimes I think about it.
If I try to fit my style to please a lot of people, I probably will not be able to do anything fun. I'm not afraid to assume that my style is vulgar and unpretentious, intended only to provide cheap fun for a niche of players.
In fact, to tell you the truth, I don't see many reasons for amateurs to try to emulate what professional devs do.
Aside from the amateur quality being always very low compared to what the pros do, it also has the problem of professionals having a great creative restriction. They need to take into account people's opinions, market indicators, etc.
But the amateurs can do whatever crap they get in their heads, and therein lies the potential for amateur games, in my opinion. Most people don't like it when in House Arrest, for example, Joel shoots the microwave oven with a rifle, or watches an Adam Sandler movie while the girls fight naked on the floor. But if you remove these silly things, and get only what the professionals also offer, at least for my games there will be nothing interesting left...
In the case of the HSTutor I have a slightly different purpose. My goal is to create something that is as erotic as possible (within my capabilities) and for this I think I have to decrease the nonsense content a bit. I want the story with Mila, especially, to scale slowly and gradually into hotter situations. If all goes well, I want Mila to be the main character and that the relationship with her is extremely exciting. I do not know if I can do what I want, I hope so. If not, at least I want the game to be fun, have charismatic characters and some funny lines.
