it used to be so much better when MC was a cambion (half human half demon).

People complained that they didn't like magic so dev made a magicless version
then dev noticed it was too much work to make two games in parallel... held a vote.
since 58% voted they preferred the magicless version, that is all we got now.

The plot is really suffering from this insistence on adherence to the mundane.
Without magic, the MC kidnapping big strong guys, castrating them, and then putting them to labor just doesn't make any sense.

Also last update had a huge timeskip. which caused us to miss much of the development.

It's okay. I understand what mrttao said. There are people who find the human or demon route unappealing and that I should never have made the other one. It's true that this game suffers from me not having a firm stance. It's a good lesson for me as a writer/developer.

As a gamer, I always wanted developers to listen to my feedback, and so do all other people. And I tried to do that as much as possible in my games, even going as far as changing my original vision for the story. But the problem is, what is bad for one person may be good for another person. I remember the game director of World of Warcraft say "They can only make what they think is the best for the game. It is impossible to design the game around guessing what the players will like." I'm paraphrasing a little bit here.

Now of course, if a lot of people tell you something is bad, chances are most people will feel the same. However, the difficult part is in knowing what "a lot of people" is. I don't know the percentage of people who like or dislike something. It's quite common to label people complaining as the vocal minority. While it is sometimes just an excuse, it's also sometimes true. If I see 10 people complaining about something, I might think it's a lot of people. But maybe it's 10 people who dislike that, and 1000 people who like that but didn't say it. And indeed it's more likely for people to complain about things they dislike, rather than voicing support for things they like.

In the end, it's up to the writer, or me in this case, to balance between following my vision and listening to feedback. And I admit I am quite poor at doing that, and I know I'm not the only one. There are far bigger stories out there that have tons of controversies, like The Last of Us 2, or Game of Thrones season 7-8. There is no guarantee that people will like the future development of a story, because they liked its beginning.

I do agree that I should mostly stick to my vision. Being affected by feedback too much does more harm than good, even if the feedback is valid. There was a Twitch interactive game a while ago, supposedly an analogy to direct democracy, where every decision is decided by voting instead of voting for a leader that makes decisions. The game is simple. The goal is to move the ball into a hole every level, and every viewer can keep voting to move the ball in which direction and the ball would follow the highest result automatically. The result was it was extremely difficult to get the ball into the hole because it kept moving around randomly. Now, I get it, it was a Twitch game, and there were people sabotaging the game intentionally for fun. But in reality, in every topic, everyone has their own opinions of what the next step should be. If I as the leader or the writer keep taking different directions because different people tell me to, we will never get into the hole.

I can't promise anything but my progress has been pretty slow since I switched to Blender and am learning it. The reason for that is I can't find things that I want to make in Daz3d, such as a dairy plant, or a secluded house in a forest. So I'm hoping I can find more suitable assets, or make them myself in Blender, so I can continue making the game according to its themes. Otherwise, I can only use environments and props that you see in other F95 games, which are more suitable for school, office, medieval settings etc. I have already skipped many scenes I wanted to make because I couldn't find the suitable assets for them. I have pretty much reached the limit of Daz3d in this area.

Thank you. Don't worry, I think in the foreseeable future, I will still be playing with these art stuff, because it's fun. I like writing stories, and I like creating visuals to tell those stories. The biggest difficulty is of course in creating those visuals. When I started making this game, I thought there were so many Daz3d assets that I could basically make anything I wanted. And it was fast too, because a lot of it was just drag-and-drop. But once I run out of suitable pre-made assets, it's really slow. I mean, it's unfeasible to create new entirely new environments on my own because that alone will take up all my time.

But there is a lot of development coming in the art industry that is focused on making it more accessible, namely AI. I'm not talking about the AI images that you commonly see these days. I have tried that and my conclusion is that at the moment, it's only good for making portraits. But there are other AIs coming such as those that can make 3d models or rendering techniques. I think when they are ready, they will greatly enhance the production speed and the variety of art for people like me.

Now I don't know when they will be ready, but the speed of the development of these AIs is really fast. If we look at most of the games here on F95, we can see that even for a relatively short story, it takes years to develop. Well, even a purely text-based story like Winds of Winter is taking over a decade to write. But these AI, I think within the next year, they will be merged with or even replace the current workflow that we use to produce these VNs. So, even though I'm very slow right now, even slower than other developers, I'm hopeful that in the near future, I will have the tools to overcome the current limitations I'm facing now and make this game as I envision it. So, stay put, have patience :).

But while waiting for and learning about new tools, I'm working on the game the old way. Blender has already given me more opportunities to create something new and different for the game than Daz3d, but it takes quite a lot of time. Like, you see all the smooth Tifa porn animations people create with Blender. They actually spend months to make to make a very short animation. For me, that's unacceptable, because I have a story to tell, not just beautiful animations. Or things like fluid simulation also take a long time to make. So, I have to decide what features I can use in Blender within a reasonable timeframe. Well, I hope that explains why I'm taking longer than before to continue making this game.

Hey man!; as you can see there are a lot of fans of this game out there and I especially find this game superbly amazing due to the sheer guilty taboos of the mom-son storyline and hope to see plenty of it in the update. Can we expect an update around the new year'24?

I expect to release an update before that, but it will be a bit unusual in terms of what it brings to the story. I'm pleasantly surprised by how many people like the story, although I personally think I wasted the potential of the settings, which is mainly the mother-son relationship. I was inexperienced and I tried to branch out too much. The focus of the story should have been on the development of their relationship and eventually softening the mother up to accept the MC, and revealing what his father was like. But it's too late to do that unless I re-write the story. So, the next update, I'm going to have to disappoint you, because rather than seeing more of the mother-son storyline, it's actually an ending. I know it might be disappointing because you want to see new story, but I feel like I reached the acceptance stage too fast, thus taking away the guilty conscience. A lot of people pointed out the story moved too fast, but I can't fix that without restarting the story.

If you want to focus on the MC and their Stepmother, that's fine. But I will point out that such relationships have been done a LOT in these sorts of games. Your approach was fresh, and more development of each of the Women on the Farm could also yield great content.

In the end, you have to make what you want. And that might mean something more commercially viable too.

Yeah, I know, the farm theme is certainly a lot more unique than the incest theme. In a perfect world, I'd make enough content for each theme in this game. I have ideas to expand on each of them. I thought I could make all of them before I started making this game, but I think the result was that none of the themes have enough content. It led to people feeling the pacing was too fast, with both the mother and the girls. Whether it is to soften up the mother, or to "break" the girls, I need time to do that. In fact, there are more themes in the game that people might have forgotten, such as the demon route, or the interracial theme. I just tried to cram too many things into one game. Honestly, I think it could have worked if I could make enough content for each theme, but I can't.

Indeed the interactions with the kidnapped girls were planned to be much more. I wanted to make it that the MC would use different ways according to the background of the girls to tame them. I wanted to make scenes where the MC made different dairy products such as cheese or ice cream from their milk. I wanted to make scenes where people would have reacted to the missing girls, and at the same time enjoyed the dairy products from the MC's shop. I could go on and on, but let's just say I had an entirely different storyline for just this theme. In the end, the most difficult part is actually making the content. If I was writing a book, this would have been a lot simpler.

To be honest, the theme I want to make most is actually the action/fantasy theme, which I gave up making in this game. But I like VFX, and I like the idea of capturing powerful girls and making them my own. I said in the developer notes that Vae Victis Khan is an inspiration for this game, although ironically this ended up nothing like Vae Victis. But I think this is why people have a fetish over heroines in movies or video games. But this doesn't sit well with a porn game, not unless I could make enough porn content.

Yeah, I get that. I remember that you had two 'paths', and the Demon version led to a sort of Super-hero style setup. An interesting idea, but a rework was needed.

It sounds like you consider the first part of the game you've done here a solid dry-run. You are now a more experienced developer with a sense of not only what you can reasonably accomplish, but much more the type of story you want to tell. That sounds like a recipie for success!

Best of luck with the project, no matter what direction you end up going.

Living with Vicky comes close but doesn't have all the madness of this writing style. So for me, Human Dairy Farm will always be memorable for the mom-son part. I really appreciate your efforts despite being scarce with resources but I will still suggest that you should stick to mom-son stories even if it takes a new game for that to happen. You've got the necessary candid and story sense so things can always be experimented with. And no I do not feel the story moved too fast or any other BS. You are doing great just the way you are. Now, that you've seen the demand and are more experienced too having tested the waters; a new game with an exceedingly better incest line won't be a bad idea. It'll be received better than any other fetish and you know that.

Thank you. Well, the pacing being too fast is something that perhaps I feel more strongly than even other people, mainly because I scrapped a lot of ideas that would have enhanced the incest theme. You mentioned that incest is a taboo. Originally I had a lot more planned in exploring that, but I didn't get to show them much because I used the other scenes for other storylines.

The main idea of my incest storyline was supposed to challenge that it is a taboo. There is a tiny bit of that in this game, but I think it's not enough. I didn't get to show why committing a taboo is bad. I didn't get to show the consequences. In real life, people would go to great lengths to hide their incest relationship. And they need to actively hide that because the consequences are severe, and also other people would start suspecting that when they notice something is wrong. I didn't get to show the struggle the MC and his mother should have while being in an incestuous relationship. It should at least be a bit similar to Jaime and Cersei in Game of Thrones.

But there is something different in this story, that is it isn't actually a consensual relationship, at least not at the beginning. I didn't get to show the internal struggle of the mother, that is she disapproves of the MC's actions, yet she would not risk harming him by turning him in or even showing signs of their relationship. So, she would actively cover up his actions while resisting his advances. The blurring of the line between a mother's love and actual romantic love should have played a much bigger role here. This is a question that the mother thought she clearly knew the answer to, but would eventually question that as well.

And about the MC. Him being invincible in this story kinda takes away the dangers of committing a taboo. In a story where he doesn't have this kind of invincibility, he would be careful in showing his affection for his mother in public. I mean, he is not stupid. He doesn't agree that it should be a taboo, but he knows it is. It would have been interesting to show how hard he tries to convince his mother that incest shouldn't be a taboo. You know, there are many things or rules in this world that we are straight up taught are bad or forbidden, but are never told why. There is usually a practical reason if you think or look hard enough, but to many people, something is automatically bad without a reason.

Another struggle that I kinda glossed over is the father of the MC. There is a common saying, "like father, like son." The MC never knew his father, but is constantly reminding his mother of his father through his appearance and actions, something that he does not know but his mother does. I wanted that to play a huge part in shaping his relationship with his mother. I don't know if you heard of stories like this but, some people found out that their partner chose them because they are similar to their partner's ex-lovers. And that creates a feeling of being a replacement or not being loved for who they actually are.

The final struggle, I probably should keep it a secret so I don't reveal the whole story. But in short, the whole incest story should have been a huge struggle. Doing something forbidden should be hard. And there is also the question, knowing that it comes at such a price, would you still do it? These are elements that I think an incest story should have, but I didn't deliver them well in this game.

Hm, to be honest, I don't remember coming across any incest games that I like, exactly because they lack struggle.
