I've got to admit, I've played all of the Hunipop games, and this one really does unfortunately feel like the weakest one. I respect the ammount of work that must have gone in to all the designs and CGs, but: the talk button is almost pointless, baggage (depending on the character pairings and the order you complete them) makes some rounds boarderline unwinnable, the sex scenes (if you can even call them that) feel so static and lifeless, which in turn makes the characters feel static and lifeless, besides stat boosts any gift that doesn't add moves or double points is a waste, there are way too many rounds, and the final boss can, in no uncertain terms, choke on a fat cock, it was the worst thing I've had to beat in a long time.

Even the most avid puzzle game fan would think twice if you told them that to complete this game you would need to play the exact same puzzle game a total of 52 times.

Wasn't popular cause of memes, it's popular cause it's a real a game with actual gameplay. I mean, dude look the rest of the site... there's no games, where are the games ? despite some shitty outdated rpg maker ?? only VN to see pictures. 0 Gameplay, the only devs that try to really implement gameplay are japanese.

Rest is only games with re-used assets, same story, same tags, ctrl to skip everything, same places, same characters, 0 gameplay and the most laughable, they're all in pre alpha / concept phase and people are feeding those lazy piece of shit people with money because "my tag" it's pathetic. Those games will never be finished anyway.

So a mixture of candy crush and dating sim is the key to success? Wtf is your point?

How does it constitute as a gacha game?
it's a random slot machine with grind mechanics.
The outfits you unlock are random.
The girls and locations are random.
The affection tokens that drop are random.
The items in the store are random.

That randomness doesn't make it a gacha game, though. Otherwise, a whole lot of game could be regarded as gacha. Hell, by you logic, even stuff like Darkest Dungeon would be a gacha:
- It has both RNG and grind mechanism
- The adventurers available in the cart are random
- Most of the dungeons are random, with randomized loot drop
- The items in some of the store are random

And yet, I doubt anyone would be dumb enough to qualify DD as a gacha. That's because the randomness you describe is only one of the defining element of a gacha, but not a sufficient condition in itself.

Well... yes. It's a popular formula. Bejeweled / match 3 kind of games are popular, dating sims are popular. Combining the two proved to be popular with HP 1. It was offering a reasonable amount of gameplay to dampen the feeling of grind inherent to most of the dating sims, and people liked that. Combine that to the various personalities of the multiples girls the game had, and you had a refreshing alternative to the VN that flooded the "market" at the time.

Also, the second point of zumizumi still stands: when HP 1 got saw its popularity peak, it was a completed and rather polished game, something that cannot be said of many smut game out there, which contributed to its appeal for a broader public.

OK, but you don't have to pay for them, so a gacha game isn't the best term

It's worse than the first game. Why did they had to postpone the release several times?^^

Honestly, this is what I find, by far, to be the most bizarre thing here. The devs had the core system done from HP 1. Did it really take them so long just to implement the stamina, baggage, and switching mechanics? I mean, according to their twitter, they don't even do the art (they hire artists instead), which would probably be the next most time-consuming thing.

OK, just finished this game.
The art is gorgeous, but stats leveling are badly broken.
I recommend to use Cheat Engine for this game. Otherwise you will be stuck forever at leveling stats.
Using cheats will surely strip the game from any challenge, but is just fair in this particular case.
To bad for the devs.
Never used cheat engine successfully and haven't tried it on HuniePop 2 yet. Where is the save file or what do I open to edit it? If there's a tutorial n this I missed it

They could have started from scratch. Also Corona, but not the best excuse.

The game is really hard, I think... Does anyone have beginners advises?
Smoothies, Unique gifts and Shoes are probably your best bet. I hit a wall/difficulty spike after 7 or 8 butterfly wings and the game seemed way to hard. Kept on going by buying smoothing and these gifts, and it made all the difference in the world. It went from "failing 4 date out of 5" to "winning 4 dates out of 5 with comfortable amount of moves left".

Also, out of the regular dating gift, I found the pinwheel to be incredibly useful. You charge it up with passion, and then use it to gain up to 20% of the total amount of point needed, which is huge. That stuff saved my ass quite a few times on harder dates.
