Loved the first Last of Us to death but didn't touch the second one because of that.
if the dev didn't intend to show everyone an even bigger middle finger than the pool party already was and end the game in a single bad end, then yes it is the logical progression to get the watch back.
That is not the problem, the problem is the pool party because Laura should have never gotten her mittens on the damn watch. MC is a complete Tool, leaving a once-in-a-lifetime magical artifact (the watch) unattended.
everything after that is showing the MC as to kind or stupid for his good. Against Laura who is shown as a remorseless and ruthless manipulator.
Some commands the MC has given till here:
- your boobs are growing,
- you get thinner,
- you like it when you kiss me.
Commands Laura gives to the MC and/or the girls:
- do everything I say,
- hate MC,
- you can't get hard for anyone other than me,
- you're only allowed to speak when spoken to,
- go to your room and don't leave until I get you.
Laura is on a power trip and is using the watch like the MC never did. She has no qualms to treat the MC like a Pet or Animal for her amusement, every out the MC gets is an fucking deus ex machina, because the dev couldn't reasonably explain how the MC could get out of that situation.
In Hollywood and the gaming Industrie, screenwriters/story-writers get fuck-you-money for their stories. Even they sometimes fall flat, like "The Last of Us 2" which split the community, or the dreaded and thrice-damned Indiana Jones 4 (fucking Aliens really). So even people who get crates full of cash for their stories can stumble over twists they integrated into those stories. An indie dev falls into the same trap ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it happens no problem, clear the error and fix the scene everybody can be happy. But that is not what happened here.
- Here the Dev was running smiling into a running chainsaw (the twist) because he liked the game "The Last of Us 2" which was at that time one of the most controversial topics in the gaming scene because of the story, which many people didn't like.
- Then when people complained he first did nothing
- then when the complaints didn't stop for weeks he posted some lame-ass justification which in short was (i kid you not, you can probably find a link in one of ops posts and I think part of his reasoning found is way into the game as an interlude):
- I like the last of us 2 (no problem there),
- mind-control is bad,
- sorry that you can't rape every girl in the game, you fucking creep.
And since then, he is working on one of the bad side-ends. Thats was nearly 2 years ago ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'll be honest, it's probably not worth it for a lot of people. 3 gigs for a still-continued broken watch ending that it looks like a bunch of people really don't care about?
Hell, I know patrons who haven't bothered downloading the game since EU *started* this ending. Which is what, almost two years now?

No critique to them. They can spend their money to their liking, of course. But I am more picky with my money.

You are right, this could have been good. But the dev wrote himself in a corner with the Party, and it does not work out.
There are so many Maledom or mind control games where they try it and I can't recall one game where a dev has pulled it off. (If you know one, please make a suggestion)
The Devs say: "The revenge feels better because of the forced Femdom rape. Wait for it!"
And I wait and wait and ...wait. Until we got a little spanking scene or the game gets abandoned.
"How to fix the future", "Big city's pleasure", "The Mind Society" etc....etc.
They all have such arcs. But let's face it: We will never see a conclusion to it.

try areas of gray (1 and 2 is ok but episode 3 was divine) or the gift reloaded ( abandoned but twas intriguing till the end... unfortunately), snowdaze, tamas awakening.... tell me if u need more lol

the last time I played tamas awakening it set itself up to the same trap we have here, the sister's friend is fucking rich, has ties to the mafia, and is immune to the MCs powers. I don't know how that will play out.

So far my top game is still AREAS OF GREY..... only game that has a good conclusion and post scenes of corruption...
no. but the story is intriguing and the UI is amazing with awesome renders and animation. its the ONLY game that actually REALLY NEAR PERFECT. i only wish theres more... and more is coming actually ...
