DMCA claims abuse by patreon retards is a plague.
The whole system is completely flawed : how retards like GDC can even claim properties over stolen assets in the first place?
I doubt they own all the assets and got the rights of the IPs their mods are based on.... Like DOA, FF, Honkai, etc.
How the fuck can you DMCA over something you don't own and are shamelessly (and illegally) making money on it. (Getting a real job? Nah, why?)

That wont happen because why the Discord was made in the first place, we used to share HS2 mods informally until the forum administrators decided that was no longer allowed, that every mod needed its own release thread on the Asset Releases section, the informal sharing is no longer allowed and yes it happens but not in the scale it used to. Also some people might release following the upload rules but dont expect the same scale as in the Discord.

There are yuffies going around the honey select 2 channels, none of them are forbidden or treated as illegal content. That's because the character doesn't even look like a child. So trying to guilt trip anyone with that as a "gotchya" moment is plain retarded. It's different from sharing cards of models that literally look like 4 year old infants.

To begin, if you looked at the person I was replying you could see why I mentioned Yuffie and let me be clear about things legally ... there is no difference of a 10 years and a 17 years old, it falls under the same category, no ifs and no buts. The line is age.

Legally Yuffie porn is very much illegal in many countries because is 16 even if she is a fictional character because the game says she is 16, Marie Rose on the other hand is legal because she is 18 since the game says she is 18 and Marie Rose was created as a fuck you to Sweden because they banned DoA Dimensions due to Kasumi and Ayane being under 18 during that game, this is why Marie Rose is legal as Yuffie is not.

Also taking a guess, a lot of anime and Japanese game characters fall into the "underage" category but arent "prepubescent" so in one hand you want to allow that content but at the same time you dont want to allow certain type of people to use the site, this ends up being a fine line as people simply wont agree with were the line should be, I understand Rule 7 existence but there are no legal legs for it.

This people love to pretend they hold the higher moral ground but they are the ones being hypocrite. People like xyth exploit people searching for content, they offer ridiculous prices and awful methods to get in touch or ask for said content.

I am sorry but HS2 IS a character creator, people have made semi convincing characters with the problem being the limitations of the character creator, the only "exploit" is xyth rips the assent, makes it HS2 compatible and then sells it ... on one hand this is a service on the other, this is at least a EULA violation.

The question ends up being about the confort zone but this is F95, its a pirate site so are here so you dont pay then be it on Patreon, Steam or whatever ... what you say to yourself or not about the morality of it is on you, I know why I am here and make no excuses.

Also dont bring price and fairness, doesnt matter if its 5$ or 500$, personally I dont use xyth mods because yes, its looks good on the preview pictures but there are often so many problems that I rather not but some people do and he been successeful, in the end the cost exists because people are willing to pay and thats the end of it really.

F95 been very resistent but if at one point its F95 as a whole or just that mod/game/whatever I am pretty sure they will pick F95 as a whole. The thing with xyth is that I belive he actually got a Unity License and he is digitally signing the files (I seen EA puling this in The Sims) so he have a pretty good thing going on, he likely doesnt care because if the files are cracked he already sold the mod, after all he does use a crowdfunding model in a lot of mods so he already had most money before the mod is even out.

Like what was already stated, all this creators are already making illegal content, they are violating ips licenses by not only creating content not approved by the IP holders but even more damning, they are profiting of it.
Corporations like valve tolerate non official content as long as the creators aren't making money of it.

This people are making money by generating content of ips they don't own.

My very unpopular opinion about all this whole "DMCA Paywall steal discord" mess:

Moders has been mantained the HS2 comunity so far, they are making mods to get most of a game. starting from there, I think they deserve some respect, well if you want to call it that way, or whatever you name it, I am not English-native speaker.

Most moders release their works periodically, I mean, if a mod, card, map or asset is not available by the moment, it will be in the future. K1T0 for example has very nice mods that are released in time, Hanmen as well, just to mention a pair. Why is the rush to get a mod when it releases? moreover, Why leak All the tier folder at once? Man I am talkin about in the past some dude ask for a missing mod, then a nice guy share that especific mod and that's all. In my opinion, leak all the work made by a moder (whatever name you want to give) is for create havoc. Killing the moder's will to do things is killing the whole scene.

This is a Pirate site, I am aware of this, but men, there are manners. we all the people who play, make games, scenes for profit are living in the same ecosystem. You want a mod? ask for it if it is available. You like some moder's work? pay the $1, $5, even $10 month and get that you want, maybe more than you expect, that will be the way to say the moder: "hey, nice work!! keep it up!!"

There is no moral argument to ban a thread, channel or whatever by DMCA infringment, all here are the same, more or less. Using borrowed or stealed asset from a company's corpse (I hate to thing we all killed Ilusion Soft by repacking their wonderfull game).

If you think that Xyth24 is abusive, he is. and overrated. I will never buy anything from him. but i will get any leaked mod that crosses my way. see? all here are the same in a way or another. Ain't gonna lie to you, I have used leaked mods, but ironically those leaked mods make me to know the moder's work, and in time it has been released. If I have a specific mod, plugin, card, map, I have had shared in the past upon a request, via PM. As for me, that's the way it should be.

That's all well and good, but unfortunately there are some people who live in certain countries who straight up CAN'T pay modders, so piracy is literally all I have to access mods unless said modder works on a ''early access'' model of release, which I don't pirate and patiently wait. There's also a question of pricing for mods - I think it's absurd to charge more than 10$ a month for a single headmod or 1-2 clothing mods.

Also modders didn't kill the studio - the studio killed itself by not doing a fucking thing to support the game outside of Japan and doing a pretty shitty job supporting the game overall - there's a reason we need so many fucking plugins to make these games worthwhile.

I consider myself more than a little knowledgeable about the Japanese gaming scene, but of course it is not Modder's fault that Illusion Soft went out of business!
These adult games for the PC are not selling well!
They cost a lot of money to develop, but they are not profitable.
Why are they not selling well? It's because pirated copies exist!
If only they could work with modders to make a profit, but that's not going to happen, as Bethesda's Skyrim clearly shows.
In Japan, many adult game developers have disappeared, including Elf.
Illusion Soft is one of them.
They were too tired to do anything but develop and sell games.
They couldn't even provide support in Japan, and they couldn't possibly provide support overseas, or build a cooperative system.
