For example, in the AAA game Far Cry 4 you can simply stay and enjoy the crab rangoon in the beginning and get the secret ending:

Besides, choice (Kill Cass) has a few plot's concequences: 1) Sign that as the plot unfolds, MC will return to the burial site ("Do you memorize this place?"); 2) It's a second wrong choice (First - alliance with Cass) for Ludwig (disruption of nature balance), which will affect on the West's trip.
Come on, that is clearly intended to be more of an easter egg than a "canon" path.

And I understand there might be some unique consequences on the "Kill Cass" path (which I am eagerly awaiting), after which I will gladly eat my words here and donate a hefty sum to LM...

... but all of LM's behaviour indicates that I won't live to see a patch dedicated solely to dealing with that particular state of affairs like the Coup was.

Thank you for acknowledging me.

Hi. I recently moved to a new location, so I missed a couple of days of development. But now I'm back to my old pace. I also created two backups for myself on a specially purchased hard drive and online storage, so there will be no more precedents like with the Queen's event in 0.7.

Thank you so much for your support!

I will continue, as long as people like you keep shilling for a game like this, and refuse to acknowledge a mistake. And this isn't about me personally being punished, this is about game development principles: Not offering a "reward" or "incentive" for making a different choice is "punishing" a player, simple as. And if you're not willing to make content for every "meaningful" choice you offer, then why bother offering that choice in the first place?
shit load of AVN games are like this tho. even the highly-rated ones like Eternum

What happened to the blonde elf you captured (Val) and her pretty redhead friend (Alessa) who stole the horse? Last scene you help her pee and tied her back to the tree then she's never mentioned or seen again. Did Lazy Monkey just get lazy with the story? Really hoped they would be part of it. At least a brief explanation of her sentence to bring closure.

She show's up again quite a bit later out of nowhere, though she is a side character so while not great that she was neglected for so long it does make a degree of sense given priority's.

Ok, thanks. Starting ep5 and it's been nagging at me since it was left without explanation. Her and her friend would have been a good story for LI.

Nah, I don't care if the branches ever connect back or stay "meaningfully" separate until the end, I just don't want to be punished for making a choice. Even if you're trying to tell a dark & gritty story, at the end of the day, this is a "game" - if I killed Cass on the spot, then don't "punish" me for making that choice by telling me to go sit in a corner and wait for my turn to play the game.

You can "punish" a player by not withholding content from them, too.

But that does not happen. If you kill Cass, the next update which was 0.6, has the same exact amount of content and renders as if Cass is alive. There are unique wife scenes that is only available if Cass is killed, you do not get those scenes if she is alive. I am talking about ISIS scenes, specifically in dead cass/red emperor path. If cass is alive you get totally different scenes with Cass.

Just to be clear I am talking about killing Cass right before the coronation not not in the inn. Yea if you kill Cass in the Inn the next update which was 0.5 is quite short, because the entire cass plot is removed.

As was I.

Killing Cass at the end of the 0.5 update means you get to skip over 0.6, and go straight into 0.7 content, which felt horrible as a player.

I'd say that last one is a pretty big fucking deal, which LM promptly ignored in 0.7 to "equalize" her path, which is not a good move either.

All 3 routes feel bad. You have several silly options to choose from, all are lacking.
Trying to shoe horn conflict in ways that don't really make sense.

It's bullshit to have so many choices in the game and then it's not even possible to refuse your forced wedding or even block the sister's wedding if on her path. Deleted the game just for that trash. Shame the game had some potential.
There are many choices in the game and most of them are related to political decisions. My favourite thing about the game is that the political side of the game is completely based on reality, there are no absurd choices. I understand that you are uncomfortable with marriage, but actually it would be illogical if it was the other way around, because marriage is the most important act of gaining allies and alliances for royal families to maintain power and legitimacy. Especially when the only son of a king has no heir, this is a big handicap. Some of the reasons for marriage are touched upon in the game. The old king knows that he is at the end of his life and wants to secure the crown for his son, who will take the throne when he dies, so he has both the prince and the princess married to powerful families as a matter of urgency, in order to gain new alliances.
