As I've said on another occasion, I really do have a slight fear of how the dev will deal with contradictory choices on the part of the player:

However, after the screenshot above where Alaina talks about a supposed plan with Cass (even though it's a dream vision/omen, it may have some basis in reality), my hopes of converging Cass' path with that of the elves were renewed.
Any examples of these "contradictory" choices?

I saved and did not rape the elf at the beginning of the game, when Alaina asks if I am more inclined to accept my human or elven nature, I chose the elven part.

However, I chose to marry Isis, and follow Cass's plan to dethrone the old man.

What I sometimes feel is that the elven agendas conflict with the plans to restructure the empire, however I would like to unite these two "teams" somehow.

I see what you mean - saying one thing, then being able to "contradict" yourself by performing an opposite action?

That does happen a lot in this game, though it could be due to some coding errors as well.

I was a bit swamped the past week or so. So I'll just do a quick review of the update before my thoughts fade. I finished the update a while ago so I might have already forgotten certain things. Anyway, this is from the perspective of my Isis Route. As I'm not really in the mood for Seraphina or Elin content.

So with the above context, going into this update I didn't care about the rebels. Of course, if I had it my way, a large portion of the West would be killed off. Can't leave any room for another Cass and Priscilla event, after all. But it'll have to do, for now. This will also include the elves for their interference, but that'll come later. And I just have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the warrior path MC finally using his sword skills in real combat. 20+ kills is fucking crazy dude. Like, sure he killed some people prior but this update made it more satisfying. I definitely will have to get around to checking out the Magic build side of things. It should at least get close to that or even surpass it.

Sex scene wise, it was scarce but that's intentional on my part. I needed this kind of playthrough after all of the other smut content I've indulged in recently. Which is why I chose my Isis playthrough. It doesn't have as many sexual encounters with only the Bookworm being around the same amount. I'm loyal to my wife, what can I say? I will get through the others before update comes out though and give my thoughts on the other content when I get to it.

All of that said, I enjoyed the update. Nice amount of action and the story progressed nicely. I am getting kind of burned out on this prophecy stuff, though. There's always something else these entities want to add to the mix. Especially with the Fortune teller roleplaying a cat now because I ignored her at the start. Like, I'm damn near prejudice against people from the west. Cass is dead, Priscilla is going to die when I catch her and Elin is Lockhart problem. Don't even get me started on the elves too. It all just makes me want to say fuck it all even more and continue to do what I want. Consequences be damned. Speaking of consequences, I miss my wife. Azalia is slowly cooking in that oven. So, I can't wait to see pregnant Isis after this time skip.

Next, I'll likely do my bookworm MC. Haven't decided if he'll side with the rebels or not just yet. We'll see how that will go.

The thing is, your wife is in the mood for senseless beheading sex with ”slaves” - prisoners or her subjects brought into her ”service” - the kind of dictatorship Dr. House handled by poisoning the dictator who done the exact thing that your wife does.
I'm loyal to my wife, what can I say?
Just like the elven thief in the same warrior path that secures your wife path, she is into stuff and MC is into stuff also, like Elin, like how he handles the elf thief, like how he is with the queen and the book-worm sweetheart.
I'm not really in the mood for Seraphina or Elin content
Quite strange how wifey gets to indulge her fetishes freehand while your MC is a recluse - how you tell him being played.
Just remember that such refusal of indulgence, the kind only the king looks to display, is what plunges the kingdom into serious unrest.

That's all well and good, but you clearly don't get that it's the intention of the playthrough. Maybe you only have one playthrough and believe your way of playing is the definitive way? I have up to 6 playthroughs with different playstyles. Crazy thought to not do the exact same thing on all of them. I know, right? Don't get hung up with your views and playstyles not matching mine on one of my playthroughs that's designed to go another way. Believe it or not, that's the point of exploring the options on multiple playthroughs.

Honestly, you should have understood that in the post itself. Especially when I said I chose my Isis playthrough because I don't want smut content, at the moment. If I wanted it, I could've played both of my Seraphina and Elin playthroughs. I just don't want to play them, currently.

Isis isn't in the mood for it, she legitimately doesn't care and only gave the order to see how mc responds. She's fundamentally against being cruel to peasants because she doesn't want uprisings.

Literally the most given hook up advice when going for it: act like you do not care to see the reaction:

Most of the time, still, they go for better character portrayals than the ones with the most success and the least common sense.

Literally the entire point of the demonstration is the prove that she's bendable to the mc's will and willing to do whatever the mc wants her to do. She's not going around murdering people for fun and she's not training the mc to do anything at all it's the opposite. She's trying to prove she's a better wife the Aurora because she's more malliable. The character isn't about being cruel for the sake of being cruel and is more pramatic. Everything she does is calculated. She's in favor of being cruel to enemies because it dismays challengers but against being cruel to commoners because that sparks rebellion, she's fine giving the order to kill a slave because the point was to show that it's the mc's order that matters. The girl was scared because she recieved an order to die, not because Isis goes around beheading her servants every day.
