That might be a pretty good idea for a sandbox type game but I just don't really see it fitting into this story. I'm trying to make the overall gameplay feel more streamlined like a movie where all the mundane in-between stuff happens off camera so that we only have to see the good stuff that's either story or sexy focused.
Smart Sceenwriting.
"But how did they get from A to C?" Does it matter? All that matters is that C follows A as if B were not all that relevant. Did he walk there, drive a car, call an Uber, text her and get picked up? It doesn't matter, they're in the room now. As long as the characters continue to arc and operate organic to their own established motivations, then we're all winning. Hit the beats and hammer the nails (nevermind the mundane and/or generally insignificant).
BE in the moment.
It only falls apart when characters cheat their own architecture/inherent-behaviors to more conveniently serve the story. Which is just outright lazy writing (and that shit makes me crazy).
-I noticed you dropped in some very brief exposition that Ma had a history matching up quite well to MC's own off-the-cuff claim. And didn't bother with it until it could add a little more to our progression in real-time. Bingo. That's how it's done.
