A couple hiccups, but otherwise a pretty smooth dev cycle. Chapter 4 is fully rendered and work on chapter 5 is underway. We'll be introduced to Jenny, the super nerdy coworker that Bob is crushing on.

The hiccups were:

1. The 3DCoat Linux bug with importing materials is still unsolved. The lead developer got back to me and said that he will address the bug in a future build, but no ETA.

2. Bringing Cascadeur animations back into Blender resulted in weird results. After a day of testing, I reported it as a bug with the addon. Within a day, Thomas, the developer behind tackled the bug and released a fix. This guy is an absolute legend. He's been working on this addon for years, which is crucial for bringing Daz figures to Blender. He refuses to take any money or donations for it, telling people to donate to the Blender Foundation instead.

3. Aliyah, the nosy neighbor had an unfortunate shader bug during her debut. The shader for her lips did not have the same settings as her face, resulting in cartoonish depiction. This has been fixed.

4. Not really a hiccup but a pleasant surprise. Marvelous Designer, which I use for cloth simulations, does not have a native Linux build. I was able to make it run anyway but with limitations, where the simulations work on the cpu rather than the much faster gpu. I've been running it on the cpu for months before accidentally stumbling on a post on how to make Daz in Linux run with the gpu. I applied the same method to Marvelous Designer out of curiosity and boom, it works with my GPU now and I'm back to fast cloth sims. Neis!

Cheers,
Dom
