Dev had a kid and has a lot going on in their personal life. A few pages back they stated they are still working on the game slowly, but are not sure when the next update will be out, and also mentioned having the abandoned tag on it is justified since its been so long since the last update.

I'm back, bitches! That took longer than expected. I was originally expecting to be back up and running in March. Now that I'm back to full speed, I'll stop pausing Patreon, which automatically resumes billing on May 5th.
I have a lot of renders to catch up on. The development cycle over the past few months was very lopsided with a heavy emphasis on writing over rendering. I could watch my kid while typing on a laptop, whereas being able to sit on the desktop and render was not possible until he was asleep at night. Production had been slowly ramping back up as my kid was getting older and able to stay longer at daycare. He's now old enough to stay most of the day there.
The next release of In a Scent will be version 1.05, coming from version 1.035. This will include the second half of chapter 4 and the full chapter 5. I don't have a release day estimate but the bi-monthly dev talks will resume so you'll be able to follow the progress.

I looked at their patreon recently. Good on them that they returned. I was only able to see part of the "Down on my knees" post, but it mentioned that he upgraded his graphics card by two generations I wanna say. 3000 series to 5000 series. It also mentioned "35% of the renders", so I'm hoping that doesn't mean that 35% of the renders corrupted or something. That would be a pity. But hey, good on him for upgrading. I hope he got a good price on that 5090.(I think it was)

He's still active on Discord and things still seem business as usual there. He also put out a progress report on Patreon just a few days ago so he's definitely still active. Not sure why he nuked his F95 account.
