To be honest, this game has two important points, 1 good and 1 bad.

The good is the dialogue, the dev took good care to make them nice to read, pretty exciting to read even without pictures as I translate.
It's a porn game so I didn't expect high quality writing but the way he portrayed the moral struggle and inner thought of the heroine as she fall to depravity with "inferior genes" is pretty entertaining.

Bad point is the coding... it's a giant mess, so I'm not surprise trying to apply something from the previous version won't work.
I think I've seen some part where the same chunk of code was repeated 5-6 times with just one being used and the other 5 being from previous versions not used anymore.
I'd say the dev, instead of upgrading his already existing code with the new content, simply did a copy paste on a new file with a new name to go from there, leaving the former code to rot.

And that's the issue for translation, even if you managed to apply the patch, since it apply to part of the code not used anymore, it wouldn't even show in the game anymore.

For example on this screenshot : the files with japanese name (11,12,13,14,16) are older code not used anymore, and they are all the same with just slight differences.
Same for the files with "Home Action Command" names (2,8,9,10,19,20 + some more lower on this list of about 300 files)
The same code at varying degree of development that I sadly noticed too late after translating them...

As for my current progress, I'm pretty much done with all the system / ui part.
I finished the full opening from beginning until gameplay start.
And several main story events.

For these wondering or are worried about quality or mtl.
This is my basic process when translating each sentence :

1.png -> 2.png -> 3.png -> 4.png

I make sure to "dissect" every sentence and check the meaning, possible variations, and rules of every word individually.

Japanese is a very contextual hardcore language, where the same word can have different meaning based on the person using it, who he's speaking to, the location, the previous sentences, where it's placed in the sentence, the characters surrounding it in the sentence, the time of the day, what color you're wearing, if you're xbox or playstation, the star position etc etc.

Anyway, I try my best to check all possibilitites before translating it to english and making some modification if required to fit an occidental reader (cultural differences like the -san - chan, or how they sometimes writes "sounds effect" to express moods, which actually have a meaning in japanese but can't be translated... for exemple the "my heart goes doki-doki" or "his penis goes biku-biku"... wtf do I do with this ? "my heart goes bam bam" and "his penis goes fap fap" ? ? ?)

When do you think you'll finish the translation btw?
Not really sure, it's not the biggest game ever but the dialogue are rather lengthy for each scene (1 scene can take between 1-2 hours).

Right now, I believe I'm done with the UI and gameplay parts.
Done with the non-ero scenes (opening, discussion with her friend, etc) Unless I find more as I go further the files.
Finished a couple ero scenes with the homeless old man.
Right now I'm working on the "solo" scenes (exhibition, flashing, masturbation), already done a couple.

So at the very least a couple days if not more since christmas and such are coming and I'll be gone for 2 days. I hope I'll be able to finish and upload before the new year.

Sigh... Honestly, this dev is making what's left of my hairline recede even more the further I translate this game...

2020-12-23 20_18_27-Database.png

Like here, these " / / / /" symbols... what the fuck is that supposed to be ? the guy left typos like these everywhere for the past couple scenes I translated.
At first I tought it was because my computer had a language issue and couldn't recognize these characters, but no, I'm on japanese local with the japanese language properly installed, I'm also using the japanese software.

These are just typos, like the guy misclicked and put / instead of ! or something. And it's fucking everywhere.
Let's not talk about how the name of the person speaking is missing, while being present in other scenes, or that he choose to add line breaks so that the text is at the bottom of the text box, for no reason, while it's not in other scenes....

This guy didn't read back what he wrote before publishing his work, and now I'm spending times correcting his typos...
He event included comments to himself in his code, talking about how he's feeling tired, or how he did some exercise and it made him feel better.
Make me want to fly to japan to spank him red for this shit really...

Pretty based. Not gonna lie. More devs should include creator commentary like this in their games. :Kappa:

I could be wrong bc my only experience with translating RPGM games comes from a couple of games I did a slightly edited MTL for, but I believe \ and | when used in RPGM dialogue create pauses when the text is showing up in game. That being said I'm not sure what putting /// would do but I imagine it also has some function considering how often the dev put it into the dialogue.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Again I could be totally wrong as I have never made an RPGM game or anything but I'm pretty sure removing / | ^ generally messes up dialogue in game, or at least makes it come out not as intended. Additionally I used Translator++ instead of the RPGM engine itself so that could also change things.

Yup, tought so as well at first so I made sure to playtest and nope, these / appear in the dialogue as they are written... so maybe he wanted to do this pause thing but messed up I guess.

Thanks a lot, sadly the "upload before new year" thing was a bit too arrogant on my part.
My new year's break is still ongoing with my family, which involve me being drunk on loads of wine, since I'm french, for at least a couple more days.
I should be back to my computer by the end of the week and I'll go back to translating by then.

Happy new year to any f95 user out there.

I wish I knew what I am doing half of the time while playing this game. What does that item do? How to unlock other endings other than principal one? Is it possible to ignore principal and skip his scenes? Why can't I see some parts of the text? Why can't I play after the ending to see other scenes?
Can I somehow see images without playing the game? Like how we can use unren and see the images in renpy games.

Are you playing the 1.0 version? Did you replace the data folder with the translated one?
How do you do it? do you put the translation folder in the data folder? or do you delete the data folder? idk how to replace the data folder with translation

You need to extract the data folder from the zip file into the www folder NOT the data folder itself.

This is how your extraction path should look like.

Do you mean what I'm doing for v2 ?
Since I use online dictionaries and grammar websites
I guess it's mtl if we go by technical meaning ?
As far as I know this is usually called edited MTL. Though that can also mean a basic MTL fixed to be readable and I think you are doing more work than that.

Yup, tought so as well at first so I made sure to playtest and nope, these / appear in the dialogue as they are written... so maybe he wanted to do this pause thing but messed up I guess.
I recently tried to do a littel MTL on the Mijiishi Sister game and it had these symbols /^/^/ and sometimes /|/| so I doubt it's misspelling. Sadly I can't give more info, since I was only trying out Tranlsator++ and don't have the time to actually go into the development.

Thanks for the hard work btw :)
