Well, it's a text game, words don't take too much space...40mb game .. how good can it be..
..okay i click here and there .. yawn..
<an hour later> .. And this is where the 1.5 update ends. A good place to save. Thanks for playing.
what? nooo..
What's funny, the game has grown by leaps and bounds. When it was first released, it weighed 18 mb. And now the "whole" 40 mb xDWell, it's a text game, words don't take too much space.
I find it hilarious that for us, trying to find cute, happy stories with vanilla sex is the exception rather than the norm. This game with its hilarious snarky dialogue reminds me of I Roved Out In Search of Truth and Love and I love everything about that comic.Yeah, this game was a rather nice read&play. It is so rare to find a game here that is not only a porn with plot and well-written (this happens often enough) but isn't also a standard cookie-cutter corruption story or something.
It is just nice to have a story with protagonist agency and mostly healthy attitude towards sex. Really refreshing.
Yes, blonds exist. This is the Northerners. Their appearance is quite similar to Scandinavian. But they live far to the north, on an archipelago of large islands off the map. The only known northerner (and blond) in this latitude is Khull the White Tiger, the current Republic Archon of War.Amazing game. One small question for the excellent dev. Do blondes exsist in this world? Do Ranalians have different colored hair?
About actresses. Yes, the attitude to them here is about the same as in ancient Rome. But there is no prohibition against marrying nobles. There is a different type of nobility here. If we speak about the first heir of any Great House, it's almost impossible. Everyone who is not formally the first heir can marry whoever they want, even if it's a freed slave.A fantastic game, great lore and good plot. I like that the protagonist is not an ultra-powerful warrior, just a normal girl without any special or magical abilities in a cruel world.
That the protagonist is an actress is great for me. In a way, Selene reminds me of Empress Theodora, who in her youth began working as an actress/prostitute traveling the late ancient world (being a mother during her travels) and rose to be the most powerful woman in the world.
A few questions, how highly regarded are actresses? In ancient times, despite the fact that their popularity could be very great, they were considered an inferior class in a certain way linked to prostitution. Even in ancient Rome, they were forbidden to marry a nobleman or have certain types of property. Are there similar limitations for Io and Selene in this world?
And does magic really exist in this world? And if so, which magic system do you prefer, hard or soft?
Great job, this is one of the best games on this site.
But, what happen if the first heir die, and the second in the row is married with someone of a very lower social class? But there is no prohibition against marrying nobles. 1. Nothing. There will be a loss of prestige; optionally, the unwanted partner of the new heir will be disposed of. Just because it is not legally forbidden does not mean that all nobles marry into the lower classes or freed slaves. This is rather theoretically possible. As a rule, not the first in line to inherit some Great House chooses a couple from a middle class (merchant and artisan families). But, what happen if the first heir die, and the second in the row is married with someone of a very lower social class?
Won't it make more sens that noble families tend to keep free the other potential heirs? Or married them with other powerful families to forge alliances?
I think I miss the part about the Great House do not own the lands, and that uniting domains is forbidden.1. Nothing. 2. Great Houses do not own the lands of the Republic but govern them. Uniting domains, even through marriage, is forbidden. That's not feudalism.
The laws of inheritance I found excessive when writing key memories of Noble Origin. The first memories there change depending on whether or not Selene is a Valatean. Even if she is an obvious bastard (non-Valatean ethnos), she is still considered a noblewoman since her mother is a noblewoman.I think I miss the part about the Great House do not own the lands, and that uniting domains is forbidden.
But, apart of the land, I would have thought that noble families will still have interest to form alliance with others. To gain more political influence, more wealth, more military power...
And not necessary only within noble families. Marrying one of the heir with a very rich merchant family is a good way to increase one wealth. It was no uncommon to see such marriage. A prestigious but broken noble family wanting the money, and a merchant family wanting to enter the nobility.
It's remind me of something I read. Love marriage is a rather new concept. During the middle age and after, only serfs/poor married for love. As they have nothing (no land, wealth, social status) to share. So their children was free to marry who they want. In noble or merchant families, marriage was almost always arranged by interest.
Thank youDev notes, last sentence.
