Hello, wizards and witches!
It may feel like March has only just begun, but ten days of development are already behind us. It’s time to share what we’ve been working on during this period and how the development of the upcoming releases of Innocent Witches is progressing.
We begin, as always, with an art preview (available in the next post). This artwork features a familiar scene with Daphne in Marcus's bedroom, but with one important addition — a new outfit. Daphne has decided to swap her usual look for a more seductive and bold style that highlights her natural charm. A dark dress with elegant forms, a delicate green belt, and a flowing fabric silhouette make her appearance especially captivating. It seems that Marcus is just as impressed with this outlook.
Now, on to the main news!
The past ten days of development were dedicated to further work on version 0.12A. The second chapter of the second act is now almost ready for full testing, with only final checks and refinements remaining. The third chapter of the second act is currently at the initial content integration stage, with code gradually being added to the game to support the text and art that will follow shortly after.
At the same time, work on the remaining artwork for both chapters is nearing completion, and it is added as it becomes ready. All these processes are happening simultaneously to ensure that the final version of the update is as polished and immersive as possible.
We have also continued working on backlog tasks. In particular, random meetings with Hermione, which happen in Gryffindor dormitories, have been updated and expanded with more art variations.
Additionally, we have slightly refined the artwork of the couple at the entrance gates, as they now play a role in events in the new chapters. We wanted their appearance to align with the overall style of the updated content.
And finally, Sonya has received a new, even more stunning outfit to keep delighting you with her presence on the screen! We hope you will like it when you see it >
On the topic of the future updates, the plan for version 0.12B has now been compiled and documented. According to the current release structure, 0.12A focuses on the main storyline, while 0.12B will expand upon certain events introduced in 0.12A, as well as add new content. This will include both brand-new scenes and reworked events from the old storyline.
When designing 0.12B, we made sure to balance the content between main and secondary characters so that the update remains engaging and rewarding for everyone.
As a sneak peek, the main characters will finally receive their full-screen scenes from the old storyline, with each prefect getting one scene in this patch. These scenes will be partially introduced in 0.12A, with their continuation and further development coming in 0.12B.
Besides implementing existing content, these scenes will also be expanded with small additions to make them feel fresh and engaging, whether you’re experiencing them for the first time or revisiting them. Additionally, they will be seamlessly integrated into the storyline, ensuring that their inclusion feels natural and well-paced.
Beyond that, informal encounters with the prefects will be added, allowing for more personal interactions with them. These moments might include dates near the cliffside, evening meetings at the director’s office, and other situations that create a more intimate atmosphere.
These interactions will give a chance to connect with the characters on a deeper level, learn personal details about their lives at Hogwarts, and, of course, flirt with their favorite waifu. We want interactions with the prefects to feel more dynamic and immersive, making their presence in the game more meaningful beyond just the main storyline.
For secondary content, a short event with the elf maid will be introduced, which will be both fun and interactive.
Additionally, several events from 0.12A will continue. These include shortening the skirts, expanding the abandoned restroom event, and re-integrating Hermione’s mini-game.
Our work on 0.12A has made it clear that maintaining a balance between content volume and event detail is crucial. We’ve also learned that we need stricter constraints to prevent our plans from expanding beyond what our small team can realistically implement within a reasonable timeframe.
While the plans for 0.12B may seem ambitious, we will focus on keeping events more compact. Our goal is to reduce excessive text and dialogue, shifting more emphasis to visual and interactive content.
An exception to this will be events centered around dialogue-driven interactions, such as dates and informal meetings with the prefects. In these cases, dialogues will take precedence, but they will still include dialogue choices and spicy visual elements to enhance immersion and engagement.
We hope these adjustments will allow us to streamline the development process, shorten release timelines, and continue delivering high-quality content while keeping the experience fresh and exciting.
That’s all for today, friends! We truly appreciate you staying with us and supporting the development through your donations and feedback. Thank you so much!
We’ll meet again very soon in the next news update. Until then, take care and don’t forget to enjoy life!
Peace to everyone✌
Yours,
Sad Crabs.
And now, it’s time for a poll!
We continue to analyze the existing mechanics in the game and their value for you, dear players. This time we would like to know your opinion about the achievements mechanic. As you've probably noticed, we've hardly added any new achievements in the previous updates, but we can easily go back to doing that if this mechanic is important to you. So we ask you to vote below and let us know what you think about this topic. Thank you!
- I like the achievement mechanics! I wish there were more of them in the game.
- I don't care much for achievements, but I don't mind their presence in the game.
- I'm not interested in it at all. You don’t need to put new achievements into the game.
