I can't however even begin to comprehend why you would pay for this or wait this
long between "updates" or take no pleasure whatsoever playing this and still pay.

This game is way too much grind for so little content. Does nothing but frustrate me!
Yes the look shit up quest is still in there, but it's nowhere near as bad as the swimsuit quest.
This game will never not be massively flawed. For years it's put "gameplay", and not good gameplay, over content. The primary design idea seems to be that the game is more important than the porn. It is not. Even the latest update, which had actual sexual content still has massive problems with how long it takes to actually get to the content. Which wouldn't be so bad if the time spent was enjoyable, which it is not. It's bad mini game after bad mini game, repetitive quest after repetitive quest and many of those quests either have extremely obtuse requirements for completion or seem to trigger randomly. You can repeat a required action a half dozen times before it actually works. So if you're waiting for the game to live up to the potential of the porn then I suggest you wait until 2028 when the game is finished and someone puts a collection of the scenes up on pornhub, as the grind is so baked into the game that it would require a from scratch rebuild to remove it. Even their attempts to implement a walkthrough system don't help.

And that's after the devs tried to make it so the game shows you what to do. I hope you're ready to start over again when the next update isn't compatible with saves from previous versions.

Some people like VNs that contain adult content but not to the point that it is majority "porno." Not that hard to understand.
I like to consume adult content whenever I can. But I'm not insanely horny all the time. If I'm really in the mood, I will play a game or VN that gets straight to the point with lots and lots of sex scenes. But other times I don't mind reading a VN that is mostly SFW that has NSFW content sprinkled here and there.

Daphne scene is just an ingenious metaphor about the state of the game. Marcus is the community, and Daphne is the game creators. Not that complicated to get it immediately.
