Heya everyone!
Another ten days since the previous news post are past us so it’s time to update you on the current state of Innocent Witches. In this news post we’ll look at what’s been done for the game, what’s planned for the coming days, and of course say a couple of words about the upcoming release of 0.11A. Let’s begin!
We’ll start, as always, with the art-preview (available in a separate post). This time it’s a preview of the fullscreen scene that is coming in 0.11A. In it, the faithful and diligent elf-maid is preparing herself for some sexy time with the naughty headmaster! Hopefully, there won’t be too much mess to clean-up after they are done playing
Next, here are the main features that we were working on during the past 10-days development cycle:
- Live2D animations for the various scenes with Minerva at the table are now around 60% finished.
During the years of development this particular scene received a lot of modifications and addons, including cat’s suit, shower foam, fingering, and more. On top of that, 0.11A will bring yet another addition in the form of a royal dildo, including various interactions. Due to this, the animations of the scene are quite time consuming. However, once they are finished we’ll be able to add Live2D animations to all scenes with Minerva at the table, starting with the one at the end of chapter 1, where Marcus helps her fix a malfunction with her clothes, and finishing with the various scenes in Act 2.
- The work on updating the mechanic for Hermione’s first minigame has been finished.
The main part of the update to the minigame’s mechanic is the addition of a new mode where the player needs to rotate the pieces of the image in order to restore the original picture. The system is quite dynamic which allows us to control how many pieces the game should consist of and how much time is given to finish the task. We can also use practically any available image in the game for this puzzle, which is quite a nice thing to have when it comes to expanding the minigame.
At the moment the plan is to expand the game with various photos and polaroids which the player finds throughout the playthrough. Hermione on the other hand will have different reactions to them. In addition, this will allow to add a certain progression to the minigame itself, such as for example a different reward from Hermione will require specific photos to be used for her minigame.
Finally, this is only one new addition to the minigame, new art and more interactions are also planned to be added with the goal to refresh the whole minigame as much as possible, somewhat similarly to how it was done to Daphne’s minigame.
- The events that lead to Myrtle’s scene are now available outside of Act 1 Chapter 4. Prior to this change the scene with her was only available if the player did certain actions in Chapter 4. We thought that she needs much more love, so now it will be possible to reach her scene not only in Chapter 4, but in the chapters that follow as well.
- A somewhat minor issue with the broken broom in Chapter 4 has been addressed. Before this change Marcus broke his broom during certain events, and he never received a new one, that is it just reappeared in the inventory in the next chapter. To fix this we’ve added a short interaction with Filch where Marcus is able to get a new broom. The only thing required of Marcus is to endure being humiliated by Filch…
- Potions classroom has received a new musical theme. The composer is currently working on the character theme for elf-maid, including both standard and sexy versions of the music.
- The editing process of the texts for 0.11A has been finished which means that we can tick off this task and focus on finishing the art and the code for the update.
Apart from that we’re currently preparing for the seasonal event that will come out in February. It was described in detail in the previous news post, so check it out if you want to know more details. At the moment, it has a scenario outlined and the text is almost finished. However, it will require some time from the artists which means that they’ll need to switch from 0.11A for a short period of time. Anyhow, we will work hard to release it in time but as you know something will always go wrong, so we ask you to be prepared for slight delays
Speaking about that, the current deadline for the art required for the next major version is now set to be 5th of February. Previous one did not give enough time to finish all the tasks, so we had to move it forward a bit. After 5th of February we will use all the time to insert the art and add the code to make it work. It will include several new locations, a fullscreen scene, and other juicy events. Overall, due to these circumstances we won’t be able to release 0.11A in January as it was planned before, but instead we’ll put everything into making the release in February. We understand and share the frustration caused by such long pauses between releases and we do everything in order to shorten the delays as much as possible. The work continues every day and 0.11A is just around the corner <3
And finally, a voting round. This time we would like to know your option on side activities in the games you play. How would you feel about having more side activities to do that don’t have a lot of impact on the main events in Innocent Witches? For example, Marcus could visit the Forbidden Forest to collect some of the ingredients for potions, which he could then sell. Or he could start fishing… Anyhow, would you spend time playing them knowing that you for example might get additional galleons and spend them on an item from a catalog (assuming there will be items worthwhile to buy), or would you just stick to the main events and move the story forward? Please let us know by voting or leaving a message below!
- I would absolutely love to click on things here and there during these side activities. The more the merrier!
- I think I would check such stuff once and probably get back to the main events.
- I don’t want to do such stuff, I want to spend more time with the characters instead, and advance the story.
- I don’t care / I want to see the results.
That’ll be all for today, folks! We greatly appreciate you sticking around and continuing to support the development by donating and leaving feedback. Thank you!
We’ll meet again in 10 days. Until then, stay safe and have fun!
Peace✌
Your,
Sad crabs.
