Hello, wizards and witches!
Another 10-day development cycle has come to an end, and we are excited to talk about the work that we’ve done, plus other updates for Innocent Witches.
As always, let’s start with an art preview (available in the next post). Xandria continues her thorough inspection of every nook and cranny of Hogwarts. Her keen eye is focused not only on the halls and rooms but also on the students and teachers. This time, her scrutiny falls upon Professor Sybill Trelawney. While Xandria is busy evaluating the professor, players can enjoy the classroom's atmosphere and discover numerous easter eggs and references to other universes scattered throughout the class.
And now to the main news!
This development period was entirely focused on adding all the planned content for version 0.11B. Currently, we need to implement the first half of the updated mini-game with Hermione and finish adding various types of stockings to the in-game store, which will expand customization options for our favorite witches. This is the first batch of content that allows altering the main heroines' appearance. The next phase will focus on shortening their skirts and adding new lingerie.
In addition, version 0.11B will introduce collectible cards that can be obtained in various ways. As previously mentioned, these cards depict the great witches of the Harry Potter universe. You will be able to admire them not only in their clothes but also without them, thanks to certain actions that will be explained by one of the students when you first encounter this mechanic. All the necessary art and text for this event are ready; now we just need to integrate them into the game and test it.
The final task for version 0.11B will be adding a new main menu background featuring the mysterious Luna Lovegood. This background already has an animated Live2D version with customization options available to the player. We plan to introduce this background as follows: the static base version will be available immediately upon the game's first launch. The more revealing and animated versions with customization options will be unlocked after successfully completing the current storyline with Luna as your waifu. If this approach proves successful, other waifus will receive similar mechanics. This way, we aim to reward players who choose a particular prefect as their favorite and stimulate replayability since plot and especially side events in the game will increasingly depend on the chosen waifu, affecting chapter progression. The dynamic choice of waifu imposes a fourfold workload in creating events for each chapter. However, we believe that the diversity achieved through content differences based on waifu choices is one of our game's key features and will lead to significant player satisfaction.
Some more news on the progress of the event in the potions classroom. We continue to develop and create necessary elements for the quest's completeness. Now we are ready to show you how the potion bottles will look. For your convenience, each bottle will have a label with an image similar to the one on the scroll. This will help players easily navigate their inventory and distinguish which potion is in each bottle.
In addition, active work is ongoing for the content of version 0.12A. The text is ready for translation and editing, and the accompanying art is actively being created. Currently, the main focus is on the events of the main storyline.
