Hello, wizards and witches!
Another 10-days development cycle has come to an end, which means it's time to share the latest news about the development of “Innocent Witches”!
Let's start with an art preview (available in the next post). This day will surely be unforgettable for the students: the pixies broke free and caused absolute mayhem. And, as luck would have it, the Headmaster was present right at that moment. As always, when you try to put your best foot forward, the most unexpected things happen. The mischievous pixies took full advantage of their freedom, sneaking under the skirts of the students, pulling off their clothes, and grabbing at their lovely bodies. Thankfully, it was possible to intervene just in time, calming all the pixies and restoring order to the classroom. But wait... what's going on with the one in the back row?
And now, onto the main updates!
Over the past 10 days, we've been working hard on the Halloween seasonal update. It will include a new costume for Sonya and a new clothing item for the four prefects. Obtaining this item will be possible via a short but unique side story.
Currently, the texts are complete, translated, and in the editing stage. The art for Sonya's costume and the new clothing item for the prefects (front and back views) are finished. The code for this event is currently being implemented. Everything indicates that the update will be released on October 31st, just in time for Halloween.
We've also made updates to the game's achievement system. Now, achievements from the old plot won’t appear in the new one, and vice versa. This whole mechanic hasn’t received much attention lately, but we plan to revisit it in the future and add achievements for both main and side events, as well as for discovering hidden scenes.
Additionally, we've completed the work on updating the book and the background-switching feature in the main menu. We mentioned this before, but now the feature is fully tested and polished, ready to be included in the next release.
We’re also continuing to work on the next major release, 0.12A. The artists have started working on a full-screen scene that will appear at the end of the second chapter of the second act, leading the story into the third chapter. Work on the texts is progressing well—about half of the planned texts are already complete and reviewed. Once they are fully approved, they’ll go into translation and editing, while we begin writing texts for the second part of the patch, which covers the third chapter of the second act. That chapter will focus on deepening relationships with the waifu and taking them to the next level.
Finally, the work on animating the Hogwarts Corridor background for the main menu has been finished. The resulting Live2D animation has been added to the game and will be included in the Halloween update for the supporter’s version of the game
Since this task has been completed, next we’ll focus on adding the new customization options for the existing main menu version with Hermione. We plan to make it work in a similar manner as the one with Luna. At the same time the work on animating this version of background will also begin so that the whole update for that background will include both new art and new Live2D animations for Gryffindor’s prefect >
Overall, our progress is quite steady. Throughout the week, we hold several meetings to discuss and approve the completed and upcoming art, as well as to plan the next steps in the story’s development. For example, during one of these calls, we discussed an idea of adding optional dialogue blocks that provide extra details about the character you’re interacting with. During a story event, a menu could appear, allowing you to ask the character about additional details related to the event, or you could skip this and continue with the main story. This system is widely used in RPGs and visual novels so we believe this could be an interesting experiment and plan to add a few elements of this extra exposition in some dialogues in the next patch.
That’s all for today, friends! We truly appreciate your continued support for the development through your donations and feedback. Thank you so much!
We’ll meet again very soon with the next news update. Until then, take care and don't forget to enjoy life!
Peace to all the universe ✌

So what do you think about being able to learn additional details about characters and events that help to know them better, but aren't necessary to advance the story? Would you be interested in learning, for example, how Snape is doing or what Hagrid thinks about the latest events at the school? Share your thoughts by voting or leaving a comment below!
Sounds great! I'd love more details.
