Grind is taking repetitive actions in the game, like for example going everywhere crouched so that you'll raise stealth in Skyrim. This game has some of it, but is nowhere near what the comment you quote suggests.

I had an idea for a cheat: Being able to switch between Maya's routes. That way, once you unlocked cheats, you could just do the events you needed to fill the gallery, instead of replaying like half the game.
