I aggree, no healthy minded individual would think that video games = reality, it's not that these kind of games are making normal people rapists, those who make those horrible things are already ill in their mind.
I don't know what is going on in India, but I would dare to say that the biggest reason for it are the real life environement(family, friends, community) which teaches them that these things are okay.
It's the same discussion that we were having with shooter games and violence, thankfully nowadays the majority knows that shooter games aren't producing serial killers.
So I hope the developer realises that porn games doen't produce rapists. There were sadly always ill minded people who thought rape was ok and they probably always will be, it has nothing to do with video games.

I think I understand why he did it, even though it makes little sense personally. Especially if he had friends who knew he was making this game. Because I am Indian, I can say that in India, 'image' is everything. So that could be the reason. I know so many people here who will say that they are feminist, even though they are not, just because of how they want the world to perceive them.

idk, maybe dev actually feels a sense of accomplishment by this. not going to know em, i have gotten satisfaction from doing really stupid shit in my life. when i was younger, i may have felt the need to justify it, now that im getting old, nope. i do what i do cause i want to do it, even if it makes no sense to me you or anyone else. as long as im not hurting anyone by it, awesome.

Starting to think he got in trouble from Sims 4 porn animation creators on Patreon, he used their animations without crediting them and made money off it. Or maybe even EA / Maxis for using their game to make the scenes for this game, because despite their massive sex mod community, I've never seen another VN using Sims and its against EA's terms most likely. Those two scenarios make wayyy more sense than whatever he said about the situation in India (as if he has an influence over it at all). His excuse is laughable.

This project always had the feel of someone's incest fantasy.
I can respect that, but the dev didn't take the time to plan it out so it made sense.
(the entire VN should be 99% mapped out in the dev's head before ANYTHING is released, IMO)
Once the MC had slept with every woman in his family (and a few other), it had nowhere left to go.
Cue the sudden need to 'step away' from (abandon) the project.

That was probably the dumbest reason I've seen anyone abandon a game. I'm pretty sure he didn't make enough money and decided it'd be easier to make up some bullshit virtue signaling excuse rather then just say...I'm bored and don't wanna work on it anymore.
