Doesn’t India ban porn officially? There’s just seems to be more to the story than a simple virtue signaling.
porn? yes but is was long time ago. and vpns were a way round it. VNs were on the other hand, nobody knew about its existence.

Probably the most retarded reason for abandoning a VN...ever?

India's situation is indeed bad and internationally known but you have to be extremely arrogant to believe your VN has any impact on it. There is definitely something else at play or he's had a lobotomy recently.

It's just virtue signalling, I'm an Indian and this shit is the only thing people have been talking about, and it's annoying, I get it I feel sorry for her too, but this shits fvcking insane, the whole country has taken it up like it's gonna change something, and what's worse is this stupid country is already a feminist hell, every law benefits women, so if this does add anything,it's most likely only gonna make it worse for innocent dudes

Around this same time a 19 year old offed himself because his tr lied, but nobody's is talking about it, there are probably other r@pe cases and nobody is talking about them either, it's just this one case

Infact, this became an international news, but how many of you know about the 5 or 6 babies that were killed in just these last two years by teenagers who gave birth in a toilet or something and thrown away cuz they know the parents won't support them

There's this huge lie of a belief amongst people here that porn just makes people wanna r word women or something, that's the whole reason porn sites were banned in India 4 years ago

My biggest issue with this virtue signalling is that there are countless other problems with this country but who cares

Agreed. If his game contained non-consensual/rape content, then perhaps I could understand his reasoning. But this game?

I think this case goes to show how some people believe fantasy and reality are able to influence one another, for better or worse - but ultimately fail to understand that, as content creators, the fault lies solely in the perpetrators themselves.

You are not responsible for the actions of other adult people, only your own. Those who choose to exercise their fantasies take on full responsibilities of their actions and the resulting consequences.

I hope the dev finds peace, but this is ultimately the wrong way to think. Just like giving access to guns doesn't make people shoot each other for funsies, giving people an exhaust for their sexual fantasies doesn't immediately make them deviants.
I aggree, no healthy minded individual would think that video games = reality, it's not that these kind of games are making normal people rapists, those who make those horrible things are already ill in their mind.

I don't know what is going on in India, but I would dare to say that the biggest reason for it are the real life environement(family, friends, community) which teaches them that these things are okay.

It's the same discussion that we were having with shooter games and violence, thankfully nowadays the majority knows that shooter games aren't producing serial killers.

So I hope the developer realises that porn games doen't produce rapists. There were sadly always ill minded people who thought rape was ok and they probably always will be, it has nothing to do with video games.

I think I understand why he did it, even though it makes little sense personally. Especially if he had friends who knew he was making this game. Because I am Indian, I can say that in India, 'image' is everything. So that could be the reason. I know so many people here who will say that they are feminist, even though they are not, just because of how they want the world to perceive them.

Like someone mentioned, it's like saying shooting games creates shooters. It is absolutely absurd to find any link between these things. You can argue that porn has a negative effect on someone's sex or marriage life, but to make the case that it has any link to a crime is just incorrect.

If anything, in a country like India, where the average age of losing virginity is so high, porn is all we have, and although its frowned upon, everyone watches it.

(Also a fact - porn is not banned in India, you can view it privately, but yes distribution of pornographic material is banned, although you can argue how a VN is more of a story based rated R movie turned into a comic, but India struggles with defining what is ok, and what isn't)

I am creating a VN based on Indian characters just as a hobby right now as well, so I have been seeing more threads like these lately.
