I think I understand why he did it, even though it makes little sense personally. Especially if he had friends who knew he was making this game. Because I am Indian, I can say that in India, 'image' is everything. So that could be the reason. I know so many people here who will say that they are feminist, even though they are not, just because of how they want the world to perceive them.
Like someone mentioned, it's like saying shooting games creates shooters. It is absolutely absurd to find any link between these things. You can argue that porn has a negative effect on someone's sex or marriage life, but to make the case that it has any link to a crime is just incorrect.
If anything, in a country like India, where the average age of losing virginity is so high, porn is all we have, and although its frowned upon, everyone watches it.
(Also a fact - porn is not banned in India, you can view it privately, but yes distribution of pornographic material is banned, although you can argue how a VN is more of a story based rated R movie turned into a comic, but India struggles with defining what is ok, and what isn't)
I am creating a VN based on Indian characters just as a hobby right now as well, so I have been seeing more threads like these lately.
