She hasn't given up on her hopes of reuniting with her childhood friend, but at the same time she believes she will find the exact same relationship at the top as friendship was before the incident, that delusional.

Her mother told her he wanted to surprise her, but he didn't do anything to get in contact with her and when she meet him at the club, the awkwardness was in the roof. So the best course of action is obviously to "ambush" him in his room... It's just too intense for me.
She does put a lot of stock in this relationship, maybe because right now she looks back and thinks that's where things started going wrong for her, but i won't blame a gal for her day dreaming and wishful thinking ;).

I understand it's not for everyone...

Btw, she isn't the only clinger in this game.

Right, but in the end it doesn't change much toward the friendship with Erynn. She did something bad enough for him to decide to remove her from his life for 5 years.
Exactly. She had a bad reaction to the MC confession (right now, maybe then she didn't knew how to reject him). He made an ass of himself, and was exiled for 5 years by his own mom. He ghosted his "best friend" for 5 years. Yet he comes back, and she is the one excited and wanting to reconnect. He still doesn't want to see her. Who's being the best friend here?

I know, he is hurting, crushing, and even wrote a song about her. But she is the one doing the effort. After 5 years of ghosting, she should be the one turning him down.

I'm up for my MC to give themselfes a second chance. Even if she doesn't feel the same about the MC.

She didn't even know she was the one he was mad at, he cut off contact with his mother and everyone else too after he was sent away. So like I said, her friend is back and she's excited. She doesn't see it as 'ambushing' him. And the times he turns her down, outside the club, at the pool, etc, she is sad, but accepts it. You can not like her, but it's unfair to say that she's at fault for pretty much any of their relationship troubles, outside of an angry outburst if you're seeing Alexis, but she even accepts MC being with Alexis, she's just mad about the lying.

I am not looking to make this a thing so I’m just going to say this and be done. Everything you’ve listed happened. They are valid perceptions of actions/reactions, outside/in. What I am talking about is inside/out. “Erynn”, the character, if aware of the concept of introspection, can not possibly believe perfection is a life goal and be sane. Neither can someone strive to be both perfect and be a free spirit. Those two “states” are antithetical. I don’t want to mock anyone’s views but I’ll just suggest that one goes through the Erynn scenes empathically and see if all the reactions are consistent with a balanced and complete human being… I don't mean mature, or good or if you would do the same if it were you. I am saying would a single individual behave thusly.

EDIT:

Facepalm if you wish but I assume she wasn’t written as a 90s RomCom villainess, with a pink purse, throwing temper tantrums about the prom decorations… No one else was.

She's not perfect... and she's very scared of how people will react once her veil of perfection is lifted.
Is she overthinking this(as we are ironically)? I think so, maybe some people will point fingers and laugh but her good friends will stand by her.
In the end i do buy her as a human being.

Also the person i was referencing and called "free spirit" was her mom, Erynn is very far from a free spirit, for example she thinks she must keep her perfect persona facade, which, yes, is pretty much the antithesis of being a free spirit.

She didn't even know she was the one he was mad at, he cut off contact with his mother and everyone else too after he was sent away.
mc "She took it as a joke..."
mc "Or rather, she made me the joke. Even her friends were laughing at me."
mc "I hated her for it."
mc "... And my jealousy slowly grew into anger."
mc "It didn't stop there."
mc "My anger towards her didn't only affect me, but also my grades and attitude at school and home."
mc "Mom often got calls from my teachers with yet another complaint about me and detention became a daily routine."
mc "I couldn't care less."
mc "After a couple of months or so, mom finally had enough of my rebellious behaviour and sent me to live with my dad."

...

a "But what about the girl ... Erynn? What happened with her?"
mc "I don't know to be honest."
mc "Our relationship was bad already after the so-called confession."
mc "When I moved away, I lost all contact."
mc "Haven't spoken to her since..."
It took a couple of months before he was sent a way. She must have knew that the mc was pissed at her.... I can understand she didn't understood why, but clearly she should have understood that something wrong happened between them. She probably speak to his mother....

But you are right, if she didn't understood that mc had something against her, that would explain why she was acting that way.

Imagine the small amount of drama this game would have if the MC actually talked to people instead of running away (exit pursued by drama)... He would have cleared up so many mysteries, been able to date the girl of his dreams, the whole Ethan thing wouldn't be happening, on and on. But then he wouldn't have met Nikki/Cara, Lakeyn, had a possible relationship with Layla, Lexi, or Elena... It's interesting how so much of the story comes down to just a couple of choices.

Well, it will be interesting to see how the drama is resolved. Especially when Ethan could have MC arrested for assault (even if he was defending someone there's no way to believe that Ethan won't lie to the police in order to get the MC into trouble).

Erynn though that mc stop talking to her for 5 years because he was pissed at Ethan? I though she was delusional, but this is something else...

I said 'might', just showing it as the result of the last interaction she had with him, outside of him ignoring her. She never gives any indication of what she thinks his problem is. Tried to show that she didn't consider he might be upset at her.

Perhaps I worded it poorly, but you really seem hell bent on viewing her role in their relationship in a negative light, when nothing in the game supports this.

EDIT: And going back to the start of this discussion, when you said she wasn't shown as a good friend when they were kids, this is I think the only scene of young her we get outside of the multiple versions of the confession, and she's going to see MC, because she knows he is upset. That seems like a good friend to me.

I didn't express my self properly.

Like a lot of people already state, you never see her as a good friend.
The point of that sentence was not saying she is a bad friend. It was saying that we dont have scene of her being a good friend in the past to make her more likable before meeting her the first time....

Another thing about her, after the 13th birthday, the MC ignore her and go away for 5 years without any attempts of giving news to her, taking her calls or replying to her letter(s?). For some reason she still expect that the MC will come back and be her best friend. Even after learning from Melissa that the MC wasn't interested to meet her, she still expect him to drop his friends to spend some time with her at the club. This is something that I find annoying about her. I do understand that she want to build back the relationship, but take you time, the guy isn't ready yet and she should have understand it by now.
But I must say, I'm really annoy at the fact she act like nothing happened(5 years of ghosting), I don't know why, but that's clearly on me.

I went back in the game to replay some part and yes, my first impression of her was harsher than it should have been.

This game does an extreme amount of handholding concerning the plot, the foreshadowing is completely obvious. Kind of odd to see people viewing Erynn's relationship with MC harshly due to the way everything is so thoroughly spelled out.

She had no idea why MC ghosted her because the thought of her laughing at his declaration was the total opposite of how she felt. Is it really that surprising she hadn't even considered MC's perception of the situation when their view of how it played out was the complete opposite of each other? She was genuinely flattered and likely would've responded in a favorable way had Ethan not interfered.

As far as she's concerned MC just up and ghosted her for 5 years out of the blue without rhyme or reason. If anything she has every right in the world to treat MC like a sack of shit (but im not going to blame a young kid for not having an accurate perception of an event like that nor the maturity to resolve it). MC should be thankful she's even allowing him back into her life and honestly I don't even care that much for her.

Being a VN, attraction > everything else and unfortunately Alexis is #1 in that criteria.

Sidenote.. Am I the only one annoyed at how early this game cuts off relationship paths? Only 3 of the main girls (are the not step-sisters main girls? idk, 1 main girl if not) have any truly adult content. Until the other girls actually have their scenes fleshed out it just seems too early for cut-offs when half the main female cast is being BaDIK-Jill levels of staggered.

Ok, if that's your read, it covers the available data. Thank you. It kinda makes her a bit off putting though, for me, anyway. Like she's a caricature of a future 50s house wife. My grandmother was like that. "what would the neighbors say!" *shudder* :ROFLMAO:

Well... she is a girl that enjoys cooking for her "would be boyfriend", she's old school lol.

On a more serious note i don't think any women would want her cooter being the topic of discussion all around a small town, while she could've handled the blackmail in million different ways, you are also underestimating how hurtful it is to her imo.

Well, let's be real, the tape would be played in a closed courtroom. Once. Years before this story starts. Right before the criminal mastermind that is Ethan went to "pound my ass" real prison for several years. Let's not pretend our June Cleaver handled that correctly, or sanely.

I wasn't being snippy. My god daughter is around this age. This Generation Z, or whatever these post Millennials are called are counseled as early as kindergarten about cyber bullying, illicit photography and all sorts of smart phone/internet related stuff constantly. How to report, what to do if it happens, what your rights are. I'm just saying, barring the need for drama in this story, Melissa would have addressed this long before a prom dress was purchased. Thats all I meant about being real.

Sorry dude, i tried playing nice with you, but i just can't anymore.
My own post said "she could've handled this in million different ways" yet you felt the need to respond sardonically with your obsession on what exactly would be the ONE-REALISTIC-WAY to handle this...
Like every person no matter how educated or not is gonna react in the same exact fashion.

Now seriously go bother someone else.

i've been through a kind of similar situation as Erynn minus the sextape (not me personally) and i think Nyx has done a good job of portraying a scared lonely and somewhat naive young girl who has allowed herself through a few silly mistakes be isolated and taken advantage of by a scumbag
