I don't get the purpose of that EP9. Nikki/Cara routes should be closed long before since long distance relationships are never going to work (it's common sense by now). Now they show up again to remember the MC to not fuck around other girls, wtf?

The flashback with Iris is amusing and shows clearly a flaw of the current game, the MC is shown from a point of view of a woman (obviously). I once thought it's a good thing in this game, but in EP9 it gets out of hand. At first he makes a picture of a bareboned girl in a park (which is Zach style wtf.), then let her bully him the whole next day to get fucked and losing virginity a day later. If this wouldn't be enough he gets ghosted for nearly a week by the girl who laid em first and he doesn't even think to go visit her instead of typing messages in a phone, again wtf..

Regarding the main plot there's not much development if there is a main plot at all. Erynn or any other MG does not get much and there's a big cliffhanger at the end. Zach is the standard idiot like always and get's even worse.
The MC is inconsistent at best, sometimes he acts like a sissy sometimes not.
I start to lose faith into Nyx. I will continue to support via Patreon but I'm a little bit disappointed.

The Nikki/Cara path was never intended to be an end-game kind of path. They are just a stop along the way. But so many people really connected with Nikki/Cara that Nyx wanted to include a thank you for your support and somewhat of an ending to those people. Choosing Nikki or Cara is a sort of game over. You fall in love with a wonderful woman and live your life. Episode 9 is the end of that story.

Erynn is not dead. The developer just wanted to put more drama into the game. If Erynn is dead. It ends summer vacation for all characters in the game. Everything leads to believe that she was raped and beaten by Ethan. But she is alive.

I find it hard to believe that she was raped and beaten or killed. It would turn off the type of player that would typically support a game like this. Up until this point, there has been no real dark content. I believe that Ethan grabbed Erynn and tossed her phone in the dumpster so she could not call anyone and she could not be traced. I believe that if it turns out that she was raped, this discussion thread will explode. It will draw the attention of a lot of new players and the game will get an initial surge of patrons. The discussion will fade out as players who did not like the story will walk away and new players will know about the story before they start the game. The controversy will die out. Future releases will see smaller increases in patrons than in the past and ultimately the rape content will cost the developer money, potentially thousands of dollars depending on how much longer this game has until completion. It is possible that this game is ending soon, so maybe the developer doesn't care. That type of ending will probably mean that he loses patrons faster once the game ends. But what do I know.

I agree with you. Her death or rape ends the game's summer vacation content. And it causes all these problems mentioned by you.

Where do you think this games get their support from? This games ain't advertised on mainstream, most if not all their supporters come from sites like this.
I'll tell you why developers leave this site. the thing is, they start making a new game that nobody knows about and they need support, so they "advertise" their game here and interact with users until they get a good fanbase and some decent monetary support. After that, they no longer need to bother promoting the game here because the users themselves will do it for them, so it's easier to just get up and leave to the community to organically promote their work, than to deal with criticism.
That's what's happening now, even though many developers (like Nyx and DPC that were both mentioned here for example) are no longer on this site, they continue to be promoted and reach new supporters through it.
but just as famous and renowned developers leave, other new and unknown developers arrive.

That's just my opinion, I don't claim to own the truth, but I think it's natural for things to happen this way.

Seems logical. I can tell you why Nyx left these forums. She made it public. Other developers I see have a hate/really hate relationship with the forums. Occasionally, you find a guy that enjoys the forums, uses them to his advantage, and could care less about the trash. Many first-time developers got their start in visual novels here. It seems like a good place to start. Except it is full of truly unhealthy people with the ability to type. Weeding out all the ridiculous to get to something worthwhile is just not worth it.

Not every supporter agrees with the developer 100% of the time. Fortunately, this developer is active on Discord and Patreon. Supporters and critics get the chance to voice their opinions respectfully in those forums. Read the posts up above. Seriously. That is why developers leave the forums. It is like a bunch of bickering old ladies armed with keyboards.

It amazes me how people view a single episode and believe that is the answer. The story is over. We are viewing a work-in-progress. Sometimes errors are made. Patches are issued to correct them. The next episode is released and the story is extended and continues. That's how it works. All the people trying to (re)write the story without knowing the outline in the writer's head. If you gave a chicken with its head cut off a keyboard, you would get this ridiculous story being told by some of the trolls up above.

What about the ending of ep7 when we get to choose between helping blondie or just walking away? That was a pretty dark choice imo.

This game is his rehabilitation. Man up and stand up to your demons. That is the only way.
Any injury needs the healing of a bloody wound, there has to be cleaning done:

You cant have your friend killed or raped and then "i'm off to the beach with my GF", i mean you are allowed to write this shlock but it would be excedingly ridiculous.
Nyx put herself in dangerous spot honestly, this cliffhanger generates a lot of discussion, it's pretty much the only thing people have been talking about this episode(a couple of mentions once in a while of Zach being a little bitch, but everyone agrees on that).
But now she needs to deliver something impactful off this cliffhanger without angering a big part of her audience.

I hope she already has a well thought out answer to this question before she decided to put it in.

What debt with Erynn?
Mc went over on his birthday and confessed his love to Erynn (asked her to be his girlfriend). She turned away (sorry I be right back) without responding to his question, she responded to another guy! that is a diss to the MC. then to add further insult to the MC she proceeded to ignore him by reading a text on Ethan's phone and laughing with him about it. Instead of taking the time to reply she questions what to do. Not stopping Ethan from laughing at mc so that the MC could see her do so. Erynn does not stop Ethan by saying yes or no but nun of your business and instead of chasing after Mc to talk with him she continues to argue with Ethan. the heartbroken 13 year old owes her nothing. He goes back as mom suggest and is beaten up by Ethan. Years later he confronts her and she does not take any blame for not answering him or that she actually turn to another guy while being asked to be the MC's girlfriend. Erynn says it did not happen that way. true she did not laugh at the Mc but she failed to give him an answer. Personally she is at fault here too. at best it is her fault for not responding to MC and his mothers fault for telling Erynn to come back later. her shock of "why he ask now" she cant remember it is his birthday. Best friends would have remembered each others birthday. Erynn only later understood she messed up and wants her friend back she likes. but did not know at that time if she really like him like that (all based on how she acted that day) she just sees him as the way out of her problems and yes the video does exist. if MC did not come back she would have given into Ethan or became the escort Ethan is making her out to be.
The only out Erynn gets is she must be embarrassed to respond to MC with her friends there which would mean she is not sure she should be his girlfriend.
