1st time is charm etc.Does it happen often? I've got 5 paths finished and making them from the start all the time will be annoying...
that's besides the point.... and a lot of errors to come across.
Yes, there are some consistency issues with the writing, don't disagree. I see most of these as mechanical issues brought on just by managing such a large cast of interwoven characters and relationships. No need for that, the brother has valid points.
Tons of stringing along, unnecessary scenes-filler, heck... inconsistencies are through out the title.
Not just on logic, human relationships dynamics we're talking, it's even within the scripts.
So give the brother a brake for venting and again, he's not wrong.
Well, that's what you get when the script is written like a daytime soap.::Spoilers::
Just picked this game up, had played some of the routes to some extent and was liking it... but... was just now playing Alexis and Erynn routes and I have to say the dev really fked with you here. I literally hard exited and deleted the game at the force MC watch sex tape bullshit.
I was already on the fence up until that point as it was from the earlier stuff, but fuck that.
In the beginning, as great as it would have been, you think nah, no way Erynn would still be a virgin and would have been "faithful" to the MC for all those years with 0 contact. And meh ok... guess that's ok, she lived a 'normal' life.
Then we get scenes describing how much she supposedly has loved him still for all these years. It completely destroys Erynn and Alexis friendship when Erynn learns the truth of MC and Alexis. I mean why would it matter, at all, and especially to that extent, at that point if she had moved on. She also says that MC is the "only one allowed in her bed" after he stays the night. So connecting that stuff you think well damn, just maybe, she has been, somehow - strangely, "faithful" to MC...awesome.
I think also around the same time you learn that the whole confession 5 years ago was a "misunderstanding". Awesome again...kinda...we lost those 5 years but can pick up where we left off.
Then you fucking get slammed with bombshell after bombshell. Not a virgin, not "faithful" to MC, escort, sex tape, blackmail...I mean... WTF just happened!!!
So not only MC loose all those years because of himself, the misunderstanding, and letting Ethan win 5 years ago. You get that shit ontop of it that probably wouldn't have happened if MC never left.
So dev thinks its funny to lead you to think there might not actually be a tape. As Erynn confirms never actually seeing it or any proof...Ethan hasn't succeeded in his goal during these years...so it seems likely it is just a bluff...cause you'd think if he really did have it, he'd be much more aggressive and gotten what he wanted.
But alas no, we get the absolutely fucked up scene where Ethan shows off the tape, making sure there's volume, thoroughly describing all the tiny details, her moaning...her deflowering etc. torturing the MC.
So yeah fuck this shit.
More serious reply:::Spoilers::

Absolutely it's very different from a girl cucking the protagonist.Yes, there are some consistency issues with the writing, don't disagree. I see most of these as mechanical issues brought on just by managing such a large cast of interwoven characters and relationships.
I'd be far more sympathetic to the original post's examples of some massive storytelling betrayal/inconsistency if the language and framing didnt come off as so autistically puritanical; this is what I was mocking. He made it sound like having Ethan narrate some old sex tape is akin to some hard-ntr-having her banged in from of mc.
Am I alone in not being surprised by any of those "reveals"? We learn early on Ethan is a sketchy guy, and Erynn's been working with him. The whole sketchy guy in the modeling industry is such a trope in the real world, as well as the porn games. Like no shit he was trying to get her in on escort jobs on the side. No shit he treated her like crap and would be the kind to blackmail her with an old sex tape. Again, none of this should be surprising to anyone. From the start of the story, it's made clear Erynn is not Cara. Erynn has baggage, and issues.
I think what happens is players like her appearance, and create a mental impression of her as a person as an extension of that. When the reality of who she is clashes with this invented character, they feel deceived.
Nope...guys
can mc bang erynn yet?
There are some hints of Elena being a virgin, she's too busy with taking care of her brother to have had a boyfriend. And she's not the type to have a one-night stand.More serious reply:
Why would Erynn believe there was a sextape unless there was a possibility of there being a sextape? At no point are you given the impression that Erynn has been a virgin waiting for MC to come home, that was your hope which had no basis in the story. Layla and Cara are the only characters who can be assumed to be virgins, maybe Elena as well but that's only because we have been given no indication either way.
Alexis certainly wasn't a virgin (no way a virgin decides her first fuck will be in an airplane toilet with a guy she remembers kissing her years ago), Valeria's unlikely to be a virgin (her flirting at the trackmeet and the sexting photos on her phone indicate some sexual activity).
Cool banner, but it’s missing Mrs Monroe (Laylas mom)
This is the in game menu image. I think on the contrary there is too many girls. Tori is a side character, doesn't need to appear in it imo, neither Melissa or Emily (not even an LI).Cool banner, but it’s missing Mrs Monroe (Laylas mom)
Case and point is she's 'like' the main LI period, irrelevant to opinions or choices.Yes, there are some consistency issues with the writing, don't disagree. I see most of these as mechanical issues brought on just by managing such a large cast of interwoven characters and relationships.

I could be wrong in characterizing you, but this sounds like the perspective of a strong 'iS iT aVoiDaBle????!" crowd. The confrontation with the video is a cuck scene by definition(again, not opinion based), unnecessary as many of the filler scene's.
No matter what i think, You think, anyone thinks.... it is what it is unequivocally....
The definition speaks volumes for it's self in fact and where things apply stands(it IS, what it is).I could be wrong in characterizing you, but this sounds like the perspective of a strong 'iS iT aVoiDaBle????!" crowd.
It would be a cuck scene if Ethan showed him the video and instead of anger he reacted like "whoa, that's kinda hot, lemme watch more!"
This is not that. I realize trying to convince anyone of this in a landscape where witnessing any woman banging any man other than the mc (regardless of if said man and woman are together anyway) is derided as cuck/ntr stuff may be futile...but I really dont wanna turn this into an ntr argument - my main point was that it's no mystery that Ethan's a skuzzlord, this isn't some weird roadbump or spoiler, it's written all over the place.
hue, hue, hue, hue, you hear that schinoize?Tori is a side character, doesn't need to appear in it
You take that back immediately!neither Melissa
You take that back immediately!
Would agree with this however, it's been since episode 5.Honestly, having replayed the game i just want Erynn and the MC to step beyond the "i'm not ready yet" which they've been stuck since chapter 7.
It's understandable at first but gets old fast.
Time has passed, not only in the real world, but in universe too(it's been like 2 weeks)... make a move, say something, just please stop dancing around the issue.
It really isn't though. Not even close. It's a blackmail situation, It's not cuckold nor is it NTR.The definition speaks volumes for it's self in fact and where things apply stands(it IS, what it is).
