Holy fuck, Zane as in Miru's boyfriend Zane, Leia and Katie's brother Zane. Zane from "where it all began"? I didn't see that coming.

Just trying to be helpful, not trying to argue or anything lol.
A timeline of Ethan and Erynn(plus a bit of MC).
Before anything i'll say the game does treat those as facts not opinions.

This is before the "backyard incident".
Erynn is growing up and making new friends, one of them this guy named Ethan.
Ethan clearly wants something with Erynn, and tries to be around her as much as possible(this makes our MC very jealous, he thinks Ethan is stealing her).
Ethan is also a HUGE dick and likes to mess with our guy(who is a younger kid, smaller than he is).
Erynn is aware of that at least partially, as far as we know she never witnessed him getting physical with the MC, just mocking him, still yes the backyard wasn't the first time.

Backyard day.
After the MC runs off, Erynn and Ethan get into an argument and she gives him an ultimatum to stop what he's doing or she's gonna stop talking to him, he is seen leaving in an angry manner shortly after(runs into the MC and scares him off).
The MC does Ethan a big favor and cuts his relationship with Erynn, and leaves town shortly after.

After the Backyard.
Ethan does "change" his ways and starts being "nice"(he's faking of course), Erynn therefore keeps him around for awhile.
Despite that, Erynn still rebuffs his attempts to get with her and he goes back to evil mode, their friendly relationship is cut(for the most part, they still keep going to the same school and probably run into each other there, but they aren't friends anymore).
Small addendum, these last 2 are just said by Erynn and no proof is given, i think most(not to say all) things she has said while having a heart to heart with the MC have been proven true and i see no reason not to believe her... but your mileage may vary.

Erynn meets a guy named Zane and starts dating him.
Somehow Ethan grabs a tape of Zane taking Erynn's V-card and uses this to blackmail her into going to prom with him(Zane scrams after this).

Erynn signs up to a modeling agency, a modeling agency that is owned by Ethan's father(failed to do your diligence idiot).
Ethan ends up becoming her agent.
Ethan and Erynn have an abusive relationship rather than professional or friendly.
Ethan uses the same sextape to force Erynn to do extra jobs for cash(for him), as of current events these seem restricted to posing and walking around rich men.
Ethan is also still not over her and still wants to bang her, promises to throw away the tape if she does that(fat chance).

Into more current events.
Ethan dislikes the fact that the MC is back in town and connected to Erynn again, according to him since he's been back Erynn has become a lot less compliant and feistier, he demands that she cuts of their relationship but she refuses.

So, first pic cannot be related to blackmail stuff. What was it about then? They had a very lengthily conversation which was meant to be secret and Ethan was furious. Also must be too important for Erynn because she literally threatened Ethan over it.

Did Ethan grabbed a tape or did he recorded it? Iirc, he himself recorded it that means he needed an inside info about it. If Zane cameo from an another game, I don't think Nyx involve him too much. So it must be someone else?
Too many missing point or we are missing a crucial point in the storyline.

It seems there's a lack of name creativity in AVN as most characters have the same names as in other AVN anyways, the amount of times i saw a character named "Bella", "Ashley", "Katie" etc.. so not surprised there are other Zane around.

Now the questions :
- is Zane an asshole accomplice to Nathan or is he a victim (as he's on the sextape too) of Nathan the same as Erynn is.
If he's a victim it's odd the MC&gang never tried to contact that Zane guy, as he should be concerned by that blackmail stuff.
- is Nathan's father aware of how much of a piece of shit his son Nathan is ?

No, whatever was said between them in the backyard doesn't concern the blackmail, Zane wasn't even in the picture until after the MC split from town.

How Ethan obtained the tape is still a mystery and so is Zane's identity, no signs of him being a cameo from a different game, just people joking(Nyx hasn't made any "interconnected universe" with any other developers so far).
The tape seems to be of "pristine quality", Erynn clearly recognizable, good audio and everything, so whoever filmed, did so from a pretty good position, if Ethan was behind the camera he must've had info(maybe it was Zane himself who filmed and shared).
My favorite theory is that he is the surfer dude that makes a pass on Nikki, but i have nothing to back that up.

We don't know if Zane shared his tape or said "i'm taking her to this house to bang her" to Ethan.
He may have been pals with Ethan before(Ethan ended up undercut him) or a victim.

But unless i remember wrong, isn't Erynn having some "female escort" job for Nathan too ?
If that's the case she shouldn't worry much about the sextape anymore because she's then working on a job that has some blurry border with prostitution.

That's very true, i didn't thought of her topless photos, but those could easily resurface from anyone that don't like her sending them to a school Erynn would apply to (and in modelling line of work there are so many people that hate each other due to the competition to land specific well paid spots)
So in any ways, she can start thinking about a different career for her life now, she has too many 100% blockers for a school teacher job now even without the sextape

Yeah one of the plans is making the dad find out what his son is up to, and how he's putting daddies company in risk.
With that said even Erynn admits that the type of scorting she does can pass as a model job(she says something like that when asked "let's go to the police immediately"), it's something they do, attend events, not just photoshoots.

He literally loses pretty much every 1-on-1 fight unless he has help. He's a big, strong guy and gets taken down by runts like Lucas.

I'm surprised at how Elena's path was handled this update. It had been a very slow and careful build up towards her and the main character getting closer while Layla starts to feel ever so slightly left out as the two start to develop their own inside jokes, and maybe starts to get a bit jealous of their obvious chemistry.

The scene at the beach in the last update had the main character question Elena about why she doesn't have a boyfriend, to which she said that she liked a guy but he was dating someone else already, and the main character then encouraged her to go after him anyways because she's amazing and the other girl couldn't possibly be as good as her. So one would expect to see something like the main character ask Layla who the guy it is that Elena likes, leaving Layla confused since there is no way Elena would've told her about that yet, and then we'd have Elena's secret slowly come to light as Layla and/or the main character figured out who she was talking about.

But there was nothing like that here. Instead, we got another moment where the main character acts like a total moron and blurts something out without thinking about what the consequences could be. Elena gets totally shafted by this move. He could've just went with the old "things are moving too fast" excuse, or something similar. But no. He just had to fuck it up as much as humanly possible. Elena now has to try to comfort her heartbroken best friend who will most likely start accusing her of trying to steal her boyfriend away.

On the plus side of things, this very unexpected development has me completely clueless as to what will happen next episode. Will we get yelled at by Alexis for making her kid sister cry? How will Layla and Elena works things out? Can we go get some advice from Melissa in hopes that we will also get to see her prance around in a bikini some more? Who knows, it's all a mystery now.

The rest of the routes I played were rather lame. I had a Tori only route, which basically doesn't exist for this update. And I don't mean that we don't see Tori, but that we don't see anything. It just ends right where the last update ends. There was a potential Tori scene on my Alexis route, but there's no solo route where we can just hang out at the beach on our own to run into her. I guess development time was spent on more important things, like another worthless voyeurism scene where two side characters nobody care about get busy.

My favourite moment of the update was the one where Iris wanted to play a game of marry/fuck/kill at the beach and they all agreed that they would kill Iris if given the choice. Maybe that'll help her clue in to the fact that nobody likes her, and she'll stop following us around and go back to prowling the schoolyards for underage kids to fuck like she did in the old days.
