The problem is that a lot of it was just jokes with users in the Discord, which these users understood, but were then spread completely without context on Reddit or here, e.g. the statement that Nikki should die. All these stories have taken on a life of their own. You can see it here in the thread. 80% of the facts being spread here about Nyx's plans are hokum. Originated from rumors and misrepresented statements. Plus the constant belief that Nyx “does everything to create drama” and “she loves to mess with the players”.if we believed what nyx says cast would be bit thin now.
There is drama in the game that is the main plot (Erynn/Alexis, Erynn blackmail situation, Layla/Lucas, MC/Andres, etc. pp.) but you can play the game completely without drama between the girls. The only exception is Layla/Elena, but this is due to the special relationship between these two. It's always up to the players to decide whether to go girl hunting and make their decisions based on RP or just NOT let MC flirt. It is easily possible to have Erynn, Alexis, Layla,... just send all the girls to the friend zone without having to play MC like an asshole. In the case of Valeria, it's even the easiest, since you have to constantly make the “right” choices if you want to play her path. Hard to do without a walkthrough.
Also the statement “Nyx messes with players”. There are constant hints and information in the game for all relevant storylines. Sometimes these are just a simple reaction of a character to a statement. Now, if you only play the game superficially and keep clicking accordingly, the “revelations” come as quite a surprise to some players. This then leads to statements that this was then “constructed to create drama”. Which again ignores the fact that all the clues and information were already integrated into the game a few updates ago. Many players also only play one or two paths, which denies them a lot of content that can also provide information. Also, some players only play from update to update and have obviously forgotten or confused many things in the plot. You can easily recognize such players by the fact that they can't get the names of the characters right. This proves how little they have studied the game. Be that as it may. Not a single “reveal” in the game was an unexpected surprise. You sometimes wondered how you could have missed the clues, though. But still, many players act as if Nyx is basing the story on the theories and suspicions that players are expressing somewhere on the internet, only to change the story completely. Sorry, but that's just nonsense if you look at the entire development history of the game and the game itself.
