That's selective butterfly effect. You make a lot of choices but only the ones related to Valeria can change that event, which is happening in the same place in both cases
I think most of the time this game makes good use of the butterfly effect, but this is one of the weirder ones.

John has a different schedule for no discernible reason and Valeria... was she stalking us? Because even before things went south she wasn't invited to that particular event... if we a have a "bad" relationship(which isn't actually bad/spiteful, just no interest) she takes a look and thinks "not getting involved in that"?

So i do think it's one of the worst butterflies yet, imo.
Usually there's a good logical reason, train with Layla>win the race.
Go with Nikki for a run... find Valeria also running, makes sense, that's a habit of her.
Go with Cara to the park... see Iris there, also an old habit of her.

Plus the scene just makes a bit more sense with John, since he ends up involved in that plot anyway(and the fight is about his "daughter").

I remember puma78 complaining about this some years ago. Much as I like Val, I agree that she's more forced into this scene than John. John is also forced, but it makes more sense given his connection with Erynn.

Oh definitely. The game makes good use of Val's butterfly and her butterfly effects.

Both cases are coincidences... They weren't invited, had no explicit reason to be there(John just decided to go for a ride is his bike? And Valeria was waiting for her mom?), but happened to be strolling by...
Now, i can excuse a coincidence... It just doesn't make much logical sense that which scene triggers depends on wether Valeria is interested or not.

This scene has a third variation, if you didn't help Erynn earlier, Ethan just mocks you and moves on without fight... now that variation is a logical conclusion from your earlier actions.

Oh definitely. The game makes good use of Val's butterfly and her butterfly effects.

She doesn't like it, but that ass deserves a smack lol.
Fingers crossed that we actually get to view(with no clothes) and sample the goods this time.

they'd find many due 3rd party patches.
I just hope this game doesn't get a fanmade patch ive seen games where there is no incest but it gets a fanmade patch anyways. id hate for Nyx to get in trouble with pateron over something dumb like that.

The logic could be that her being interested in you made her different choices that led her to there at that moment. Sketchy, but plausible.

I'm just unable to figure out how liking the MC would affect her schedule that day, the game doesn't give any reasons...

Usually it makes sense, for example, we see Valeria at the beach when we go there with Alexis, Erynn, Iris... that's because Darryl and Tori invited her and she accepted, simple enough, cool.

In this occasion there isn't much reason why she's there or not, same thing for John.

"Valeria went for a walk midtown because she likes MC", isn't a sentence that makes much sense.
And John being midtown or not depending on wether Valeria likes us makes even less sense.
