The other girls rebuff him constantly, so you can still mentally beat him down to sanity. Val didn't and played nice, so he refuses to accept reality.

I'm sure that even Val wishes that she had made her feelings or lack of feelings for Zach clearer. She was simply being nice and friendly with someone who was nice to her at school, introducing her to people etc.
Layla rebuffed him constantly but that didn't stop him from still trying. Most of us can pick up on social cues or signals if someone is interested in us romantically or not. He seems to lack this basic function.

Imagine if the resolution of the Zach storyline wasn't any big emotional confrontation and talk-no-jutsu. Its just him getting diagnosed with autism or something(one of those "can't read social cues" conditions), and he starts taking his meds.

We don't know yet, she's mostly fine, physically she's in perfect health.
But she's keeping a secret about running into him and acting like everything is ok.

Ok, I just checked some of my saves, and the most points Zach has are :4 (how can he have that many? I must have messed something up) Most routes have 0-2 points... So I'm definitely sacrificing these Zach points, just to get this idiot guy out of my life...

When I saw the "Suspect Zach" choice, I also thought, this feels like a Nyx swerve/twist. It's probably Lucas. He didn't like the MC revving his bike and scaring his beloved Layla.
