In my opinion both deserve part of the blame which why I will probably distance myself from them and if I have a choice I will probably push Emily towards Brooke or to stay alone, with all her experiences with men until now I think it makes more sense.
Oh I wouldn't want Emily to get back with either of them over Mommy Brooke. But I think I would at least want the MC to have a few conversations with his bio dad to figure out if he is worth giving a second chance. His past paints him in a bad light but Enzo says otherwise and he seems like a good dude. So I want to give him another chance + for all I know he wanted to reconnect during that coffee date with Emily and she said no because of Andres. So it's hard for me to justify not giving him a second chance for the time being.

oh it's bad, adult or not. That's still the kid he raised and supposedly loved for all his life, you don't go around punching him when he did absolutely nothing wrong, unless you're a piece of shit.
I don't actually claim that Andres loved MC, nor do I demand it from him. Raising him is all that matters to me. And while Andres was wrong in that fight, it wasn't personally about the MC but Haley. I totally see it as salvageable. Shit happens between adult men.

I'll tell you, I can't be too angry with Andres because many of his misdeeds seem to me to have been added later by Nyx, because the public wasn't so convinced that Emily was a poor martyr abandoned by her husband and son.
Yeah, I kinda had the same suspicion. Because of this, I don't even have the bike. You know what that means.

You are aware there are a few years between the divorce and the acting up, right? The acting up wasn't a result of the divorce at 10, it was Erynn rejecting him at 13. Are you expecting Emily to just go "well the man you've thought is your father actually isn't". All MC knows is Andres, so of course she sends him there.
So it's two opportunities Santiago had to step in, not just one. Your point being?
Emily did it later anyway. But to me, it's not about Emily. I'm not expecting anything from her here. I'm expecting Santiago to do something, if he is indeed father material. If he truly cared about his son, he'd go right through Emily's (largely forced, insincere and, after the divorce, not backed up by Andres anymore) protests to be with him. What? He didn't? Fuck him then.

Once again, people can defend Andres all they want but his ultimatum robbed any opportunity of Santi being there for his son.
And once again, nothing but their own judgement stopped Santiago and Emily from raising the MC together after the divorce.

Dont matter the reason, she's still gonna be pissed and take it out on him and he'll deserve it for that crap he pulled 5 years
So what would be your reaction if you were the MC and just found out? To go running to Erynn and tell her immediately (rather than fucking her Mom ) or to call and tell her, or send her a text and break the news to her that she's likely been thinking about most of her life?
Or to wait for her Mom to sit her down and let her tell her, like you've been asked to?
And I'm not sure what the news of John being Erynn's father has to do with what happened 5 years before. If anything the MC moving away led to him meeting John through Iris and then for Erynn to ultimately meet her father. :WeSmart:

Also let's not forget that there's a path/path's where the MC and Erynn still aren't speaking. Or she's still pissed off at him.

If MC gets to be unfairly mad at Erynn and block her for something that's not her fault, Erynn gets to do the same.
My reaction would be to be pissed at the adults for dropping that shit on me in the first place. Then I'd give them a deadline because Im not fucking up my relationship with her cuz y'all were messy.

That's an interesting way of saying ghosting her.
Pretty sure he mentions needing time to think and he'll talk to her soon. Not sure that qualifies as ghosting, if so MC is constantly getting "ghosted" by everyone.

So it's two opportunities Santiago had to step in, not just one. Your point being?

So you're saying Santi should forego everybody's feelings, lob a grenade into their family dynamic which would likely end with MC resenting him for destroying his family and potentially causing a rift with Emily for lying to him?

So it's tit for tat for you then? Two wrongs don't make a right. Especially when that wrong is the miscommunication/misunderstanding of a couple of kids. Besides they've moved past that now.
I do agree about a deadline, it can't drag on forever. It needs to be the next day ideally.

I don't think he was the breadwinner tbh. You see the polo shirts he wears?
Mc lived off his back for a while when was running away from his problems.

His past paints him in a bad light but Enzo says otherwise and he seems like a good dude
Enzo is his best friend, I don't know how reliable he is, it's obvious that he wants to see the best in Santi

That looked like a kinda small apartment though...

I mean, nearly everyone seems to vouch for him being a good guy, even Emily.

The only one who has a problem with him seems to be Gabi.

There's not much to destroy after the divorce. They didn't have to tell the MC its reason. But, in general, you're being overly pessimistic about it. A bit of Santi demonstrating how cool and rich he is, a bit of expensive gifts skyrocketing MC's status in school, a bit of Emily saying how great Santi is, how he is the true father and how bad Andres was for forcing her to lie (she'd even be sincere about it!), and MC would be totally in for it. Kids are easily manipulated.

MC still perceives Andres as his father though, so that bond gets destroyed without any forethought or consideration to how it would affect his son. I don't think manipulation is a good foundation to build a new father/son bond on.

Emily is not a reliable source when it comes to men XD
I'm telling John you said that! Mommy Brooke all the way though

While I'm myself pro-Andres, I don't expect Santiago to give a single fuck about him. Moreover, I think it's very reasonable that if some man was an obstacle between a father and a son for ten fucking years based on a lie, the father would do anything to remove the lie and the man from his son's life asap.

He's legit the agent of his son's favorite player. That alone would get him in like flynn.

Maybe not a reliable source but she's definitely got that sauce. :ROFLMAO:

Sorry! What were we saying?
I mean true but it's still enough reason for me anyhow to give him a second chance. Especially on Lexi or Layla's path
I probably will too, but I'm a little annoyed by how many of these conflicts are resolved in such a binary way; human relationships aren't so black and white.

You do realise severing that bond affects more than just Andres, right? He'd be revealing to his son that not only is Andres not his father, but that his mother has also been lying to him. That's a lot for a 10 year old to process, which is probably why Andres said he would reveal it himself when MC is older (which he never ended up doing, intentionally or not, who knows?).

Doing it the way you suggest would likely sour all parties relations, with Emily/Andres likely the least impacted because, divorce.

True, that could sour the MC/Emily relations for a bit, but play up Andres's role as the tyrant and Emily's role as the victim, and you'll get there eventually. Especially along with the other perks of Santiago.

Not sure why people have such an affinity toward Andres, no matter how fiendish Nyx makes him there will always be people championing his cause, all because he coerced a single mother into a marriage and helped with her kid.

He could butcher Haley and people would counter with "He raised someone else's child!".

It's simple, really. I like Andres much less than I hate Santi, as the latter is an absentee father who I'll never respect because to me, nothing and no one is more important than being with your children. I may drop Andres one day, but accepting Santi? Never happening.
