I disliked him before the punch or rather I forget all about it. It's the way he treated Emily that makes me dislike him. Mostly because how insecure and jealous he is. I recall he accused her of cheating or something just for having coffee with the father of her child. ( which could of happen to be fair but never was any proof of it). + With basically saying how the MC has no right o know who his father because that was his only demand from Emily.
Emily's anger toward Santi had subsided when she returned to college after MC was born, by which point he had graduated and left.
Andres and Emily didn't divorce just now. That was when the MC was still a kid, yet enough time passed from the parents' ultimatum. And Santiago did contact Emily then, it was precisely why her and Andres divorced, and he already knew of the MC. Around that time, Emily began having trouble raising MC. Did Santiago come and help, with Andres not being in the way anymore? No. Emily sent MC to Andres.
It wasn't her child, it was their child! But Santiago gave up, and he who gives up when it's hard doesn't deserve the end result.
Yeah, that's unfortunate. But the MC wasn't a kid anymore by then, so it's not that bad, Andres was punching his equal, not someone weaker. Besides, I'm giving Andres a lot of leeway for raising him.

I'll tell you, I can't be too angry with Andres because many of his misdeeds seem to me to have been added later by Nyx, because the public wasn't so convinced that Emily was a poor martyr abandoned by her husband and son.
You are aware there are a few years between the divorce and the acting up, right? The acting up wasn't a result of the divorce at 10, it was Erynn rejecting him at 13. Are you expecting Emily to just go "well the man you've thought is your father actually isn't". All MC knows is Andres, so of course she sends him there.
Their child that Emily seemingly wanted Santi to have nothing to do with because of Andres' ultimatum. Santi's only recourse would be lawyering up and burdening Emily with legal fees, instead opted to leave her with the family unit she chose.
Santi robbed himself of being a father with his reaction to finding out Emily was pregnant. Sure, Andres is an opportunist, but let's be real, the only reason that opportunity was there was because of Santi.
Yea alot of that stuff does feel manipulative. It went from typical father-son problems to Andres is a violent cheating douchebag super quick. Dont get me wrong, Im not letting Andres off the hook, but he's hardly the only guilty party in all this.
"I sacrificed 18/19 years of my life raising you by investing my money to get revenge on your biological father mhuahahah!" is not such a great plan.
In my opinion both deserve part of the blame which why I will probably distance myself from them and if I have a choice I will probably push Emily towards Brooke or to stay alone, with all her experiences with men until now I think it makes more sense.
