I understand you, and a more complex system would be nice.
But for me it's more a "practical" question: you can easily consider that a slave is sold with her clothing, avoiding her new owner to buy everything again. And it's a bit difficult for me to imagine a slaver keeping clothes in all sizes in his wardrobe: let's be nice with the buyer, give him all this stuff and he'll be happy :p

And modders will be happy too, because I can't imagine the complexity of a system with aging clothes, and differentiated giving (to new owner) according to what the slave is wearing when sold :censored:

Anyway, it could be a good idea to drastically increase the cost of clothes if we were able to keep them, 'cause for now they cost as much as some eggs lol
For that the lore suggestions of Lokplart are nice :)

I can consider having the choice to sell my slave with clothing if I'm a nice business man and that it serves my reputation. I'm not considering giving a client an entire wardrobe by default; maybe I should give him my house and my kidney too? :4Head:

Right, so let's not make modders work on doing things that will get replaced eventually if we plan on making this game ideal in the long run. (y) That mean not reversing the clothing system to 1.7; 1.8 system is not THAT bad in my opinion. I can change my mind easily tho if ~5 people or all modders agree that 1.8 clothes system should be gone.

An immediate improvement would be to make that all the equipment that the slave has on her disappears when she's sold

surprised no one brought up human skinned clothing given how dark the setting is lol... I played too much rimworld don't judge :p
I agree. It could be one of the sources; the less expensive one probably. Opinion Lokplart?

It was a slippery slope :KappaPride:

I checked to be sure, and that's dumb indeed. I put it in your roadmap (you don't mind?).

Will there be an android port?
Like most android port on F95, it'd be unofficial and made by a fan, so that's up to the popularity of the game. Someone experienced might want to port the game to Android.

Given this is a niche old game, it's not likely to come soon. However, it did have its fair share of success back in the days, especially on torrent sites. Once 2.2 is out (soon, hopefully) I'm thinking about encouraging people to share the game on torrent sites, like pornolab, or some other trackers.

Hope this get a port, it's really sad to not be able to play this on my phone, keep up the good work

Oh. I like where this is going. You could even produce this yourself since slaughtering a pig would result in skin too.
Although, I think they should have a debuff if they're worn by a new slave who's not yet used to the way things are in the city.

There's a lot of fucked up topics that haven't been touched yet. I'm sure that if we started thinking about it, the discussion would last hours. It is more of a matter of being able to depict them using online free images. For example things like cutting any part of the girls body off (like a nipple for example) will probably never be in the game since it requires all scene images take it into account and that's just not possible.
And it's a bit difficult for me to imagine a slaver keeping clothes in all sizes in his wardrobe: let's be nice with the buyer, give him all this stuff and he'll be happy
I don't know.. In my opinion, the part of clothing that a slaver wouldn't keep would be things like underwear and lingerie. I see it totally plausible for a slaver to keep outfits handy in case he needs to make a public appearance with his slave. And things like a maid outfit would be kept because it has a psychological effect on the slave.

If a big clothing overhaul were to ever happen it needs to keep in mind quite a few things. I'm just going to lay down what I think it should look like for us to look back at, if we choose to do it or for someone else who would like to contribute.
  1. Clothing sizes - This shouldn't be too difficult. It would basically mean tripling most clothing items. Not all though. Things like a leather collar can be adjusted to the slave's neck.
  2. Clothing quality - This would be based on material and how much it's been used. - I don't see classes being a thing in QSP so this might be a little tricky to add. I have an idea to use arrays like classes but idk how much that'll work.
  3. Clothing display - Going from a text based thing to a more rpg like inventory with a blank character in the middle and a lot of item slots around it
    • Idk, I feel like, at least for me, pictures would make it easier to understand - There are already pics for all clothes in the ui overhaul folder that could be used.
    • This is pretty easy to do, it's just tedious to move all the code and align all the boxes right. But I think it could be worth it.

More extreme ideas that the game can live without just fine that have popped into my head:
  1. Letting the slave choose her own clothes - This would be based on a comfort rating but also on the slave's fetishes and state of mind - A rule could be added to force her to wear what you assign to her, otherwise, assigning clothing would be treated like a suggestion which she can decline.
  2. Taking into account weight as well as age for clothing size. This would mean having 9 sizes for every item.
  3. Adding a fraction of the price of worn clothing to the price of the slave and giving the customer the option to choose to buy her without the clothes included if he can't afford them.

Anyway, for now, a simple rollback to the previous version would be alright. Although, Pianocat , please add an extra check to un-equip the weapon when you're selling a girl. It makes no sense to give a customer a sword together with his slave, even if they asked for a gladiatrix.. I'm a slave trainer not a blacksmith and nor a weapons dealer

Edit: Maybe a button in the menu you can check to enable/disable this change would be good addition too. Some players might like the current version more.

Pianocat: basically, if you sell a slave with equipment, all equipped clothes/items should be gone. That's as simple as a rule as it gets.

You could still be able to cheese the game by unequiping before selling, but at least the player will have to be careful (and he still have to make the slave keep some clothes if he want to raise her charm level easily).

To me, it's a good compromise between 1.7 system and 1.8 changes. On one side it's still absurd because one loli-sized cloth will fit a mature girl... On the other hand it brings back balance, as the slaver won't get rid of everything he bought at once and it forces the player to be careful with unequiping before a sell.

It's the good path towards the ideal system. Then to perfect it, later in v2.3, we'll add the 9 cloth sizes. (y)

Edit: Erm, let's deliberate some more.

Not to shit on anyone's ideas or interrupt any in-depths clothing discussions, but do you guys honestly feel that would improve the gameplay?

A lot of that sounds more like busywork to me, especially since the game already is rather complex for a slave trainer. I don't think I would enjoy having to sort through different clothing sizes and qualities. More clothing options, sure, 37 different variants of the same outfit depending on size, age, material, etc. seems tedious.

Good point. I also didn't think of the menus... They'd get weirdly big.

So we have three choices: 1) We revert the clothing system to 1.7 (all clothes disappear when selling a slave)
2) We compromise (only equipped clothes disappear when selling a slave)
3) We keep 1.8 system (all clothes are kept even tho the slaves was wearing them when being sold)

I hesitate between 1 and 2.

I'd probably opt for 2. That leaves the door open for rare, unique or quest-related clothes or some such, in case that is ever planned, without having to create another set of exceptions to make sure that stuff isn't accidentally lost every time you sell a slave.

For my part having a complex clothing system is not what I care about, but I understand it can be interesting for some people.

For now, the best compromise, from my pov, would be this one:

I hear your arguments, and a simple rollback to 1.7.5 is not so much a good idea, indeed. But selling the slave with her current outfit seems a minimum to me :)
Also we can do an exception for the weapons, as it was suggested by Lokplart

  1. Clothing display - Going from a text based thing to a more rpg like inventory with a blank character in the middle and a lot of item slots around it
    • Idk, I feel like, at least for me, pictures would make it easier to understand - There are already pics for all clothes in the ui overhaul folder that could be used.

In fact this one is precisely the project I started working on^^ I don't like the way clothing is currently handled, lost in a submenu. In my last game I suddendly realize that my slave spent 20 days naked, cause I totally forget about the clothes...
So a simple thing I'm planning to do is adding a new bar, sit on top of the left menus, on the main screen ; a bar on which would appear the different pieces of currently wore clothes and equipment. I don't think making it interactive for now, but with a bit of photoshop it could be an elegant way to display these infos I think!
And like you said, all the icons are already in the ui folder, even if it could be a good idea to create a reduced version of them.

Idk.. In my opinion, a mechanic that results in a negative outcome if you don't pay attention but only results in a neutral outcome if you do is only going to get more annoying the more you play, especially since there is no way to quickly un-equip them and it could result in people going back all the way from the seller's house only to make sure that they un-equipped the slave's weapon and armor.

There's also so much attention you can pay while playing a game from this... genre :HideThePain:

Alright, let's go for this :)

Also we can do an exception for the weapons, as it was suggested by Lokplart
I think this would only make sense WITH 1.8 system. With the 1.7+1.8 compromise, it'll force the player to be cautious (and it's consistent; this exception makes no sense if the players HAS the choice). (y)

"Auto un-equip everything", why not! Just weapons and armors, that would be too "easy" and would make us take anothter 1 star because "muuuh it's for casuals now" :KappaPride:

Yep. I have the same problem, especially in the beginning when I don't have any clothes that make training easier either.

That actually made me laugh. Good one. Didn't know JONT was an eSports game
If this game can be considered easy then idk what can be considered hard. For fuck's sake, I went into the code because neither my brain nor the wiki were able to explain how mood and obedience work.

If you play the game a lot it's going to inevitably get easy no matter what. You're not competing with another player, you only have cold hard code. And once you figure out the ins and outs of that, there's nowhere left to go. I guess people expected the game to keep getting harder with each update.

I bet you that if we go back to the 1.7 clothing system we're gonna get 1 star from a newer player because of "artificial difficulty".
